Popularity Score?

Can someone explain how the popularity scores are calculated for product statistics?  They make no sense to me.  I have products that have 1 view, never been sold, no likes, and yet they're in the top 10 of my products when I sort by popularity and are higher in popularity than products that do have many views, have been sold, and have been liked.  Make it make sense.

Only the zazzle algorithm knows and I can't see it ever sharing it's secret.

You'll also notice popularity is different on your store front end verses your store back end - no idea how it works. It's never made sense to me.😂
