"Replace Product"- can we change the image templates?

Is it allowable to change the image templates on products with the "replace product" feature? I tried one, and after a few days, it looks like it didn't "stick," but I didn't get any emails telling me that it was rejected. It was basically the same image, but I photoshopped it slightly. Maybe it's not done being reviewed? But the overlay in the back end that tells you when there are changes being reviewed is gone.

I've had several go through where I've done that. Took the background out of an old graphic so I could change it more easily and replaced them in the old products. Also had one where I didn't have the spacing correct along the sides to be able to do a pattern (was making a gutter) and replaced the graphic to fix that. It seems that as long as it doesn't look substantially different, it's fine.

The overlay seems to come and go for me as well. It'll be there, then it'll disappear and the old image shows, but I don't get a rejection email. Then it'll come back, then the new image shows. Who knows what's happening. 🙂

Oh - Image template, so a photo? I did change my placeholder photograph several times as well and those changes stuck. Complete change of image to a different person/family. But it was a placeholder.

Yes, I'm talking about placeholder photos.

No Connie they won't except a change with an image template. The reasoning behind the rejection is the customer who sees the original on social media would see a different product (even though it's just the image that has been changed) than the one advertised.

Oh, that's too bad. I understand the reasoning, but in this case the change is so minute, that most customers probably wouldn't even notice it! It's the same image, but in the original the little boy has his tongue sticking out, so I put a smile on him instead. Being just a placeholder image anyway, I didn't think it was too big of a change for them to reject. And I didn't get a rejection email, either.

Now I feel like an idiot! The changes DID stick, but I was looking at my own uploaded mockup, which I forgot to update, so I thought the images was still the original!

I'm guessing you aren't the only one who's done that.
