I've been selling quite a few ornaments this Christmas season. All of them are set to 10% royalty. On all the sales, 10% has been listed on the royalty history earnings information. Some have the additional 5% "user options" royalty as well.
Today, one of the same ornaments sold. This time, however, the royalty was listed as 9.8% in the earnings report. Any idea why this would occur? None of the other sales for these ornaments (over the past 2.5 months) show incorrectly, regardless if it's sold in or out of the USA.
Anyone else have this happen?
Thanks,
Gwen V.

● Secondary Content Carveout: If a User elects to incorporate Secondary Content into a physical Marketplace Product, Zazzle will retain a carveout to pay Royalties to the Creators of that Secondary Content, as detailed here.
Zazzle Royalty and Referral Percentages
This is the chart they put out when they first introduced the Secondary Content program.
Your 9.8% would be 98.04% of the 10% you've set but there are no Elements in the Design Tool except the free shapes Zazzle provides. The only thing shoppers can add to a design are Backgrounds, so looks like that is what Zazzle considers an "Element" on this confusing old chart.
So they're not actually changing your royalty, they are deducting a 2% fee but instead of showing it that way, they show it instead in the form of the lower royalty.

It's probably got some 3rd party content added - a background or one of the "icons" from over in the design menu.

That would change my default royalty setting? It's never happened before in the 14 years I've been with Zazzle..

Thank you for the detailed response. Not that I like it, but it is what it is.
