I have just sold three products @ £22.50 less 20% discount. royalty rate 15%, according to the listing details, I should be due £3.21 per sale, but am only due a total of £0.67p according to my payment history. What is going on???

Transaction ID's are 256-92695118-3871943, 256-92695118-3871943
Also querying transaction 256-48738418-2977487.
Sale of 8 cards, royalty total £1.00.
Also, does a customer discount affect royalty rates? In this case, does a 20% customer discount result in a 20% reduction in royalties?

Based on my experience and previous chats about similar things in the forum previously:
- Was the design from the original item possibly transferred to a product with a lower selling price?
- At the moment I don't know where to find the setting, but somewhere in our account settings is a "default royalty rate" option which could be set at 5% by default, so if someone transferred a design to a different product, it could have resulted in a 5% rate on that particular sale (if I'm remembering correctly)
- Someone could have had a coupon code or offer that exceeds the publicly-published standard discounts
- Other customer-service related adjustments could possibly have happened.
Just starting ideas to check out.

If someone has a coupon code then why does that not refect in the sale price?
The bottom line is that I am NOT prepared to achieve £67 of sales and receive only 67p. That is a blatent rip off

At 15 percent there is also a fee for setting your royalty at 15 percent or above. I don't remember how much it is. The customer could have downloaded multiple add-ons like backgrounds that trigger an additional carve-out. There are numerous ways to see a royalty decrease. I used to worry this to death and spend too much time sorting it all through. In the end there was always a detailed analysis that showed calculation was correct. So I haven't worried about them in years.

Well, obviously you are doing it as a hobby and not as a source of income. I worry about my own financial situation and the fact that I haven't received any income from Zazzle for nearly a year, and won't even reach the £30 threshold to be paid even if I do receive my 67p

LOL I make my living on Zazzle. When I first started, I spent a lot of time figuring out every discount. Every time Zazzle was right. So why keep thinking about it. What I was trying to say is that the system is so complicated that it is almost impossible to figure out. You are better off using your time to figure out why your products aren't selling regularly and fixing that.

Yes, you are right about the system is so complicated that it is impossible to understand it.
It is not this incident, but 10 years of trying to make Zazzle work for me. Even the techical staff don't seem to understand the problems I have had.
Meanwhile, earlier this year I received $116 in commission from Alamy. Aamy does all the marketing unlike Zazzle which relies on the seller doing most of the marketing. that is one reason why I don't receive many sales, I have hardly any views of my products. Also earnt £50 from the sale of photographs on eBay, mostly @£2.99 BIN each. No hassle with payments, eBay trust me enough to send payment upfront

Don't forget the affiliate or third-party carve out, I can never remember if it is 15 or 20 percent.

Hi @kennethwfd,
I took a look at your two most recent royalties. The designs were transferred from one product to another which may explain the lower royalty than you expected.
Moving this thread as there is no tech issue present. Thanks!

"which may" I am not prepared to accept £0.67p royalties for £67 worth of sales. that is a blatent con, and unless I receive the three payments of £3.21 which the site says I "will" receive, provided the customer doesn't cancel, I consider Zazzle a con and a complete waste of time. I'd be better off with a paper round, and will be closing my account forthwith.
"The designs were thransferred from one product to another" Yes, by the creation of a template set. So this is how Quick create works in Zazzlespeak.

Hi @kennethwfd,
I'm unsure about where the figure of £67 can be seen in your royalty history. I can see that both sales were designs that were transferred from an ornament to another cheaper product.
If you have any questions or concerns, we are more than happy to help. Feel free to reach out to us by email.
Thanks!

The customer purchased one item, then a further two @ £22.50 each. which equals £67.50 where you get the transference of a design to another item from, I really don't know, because I, repeat, I created several tree ornaments as a template set including this design. So if the design was transferred to a cheaper design, why does the price not alter? Why do I not see the item actually sold?
I pay £120 a year for Adobe Creative Cloud for a start, then after the time spent learning Photoshop, taking photographs and so on, I am not prepared to sell my designs for a few pennies.
The same thing has happened at Easter, when I sold several cards only to receive about 12p in royalties per card.
Anyway, decided I have had enough regarding selling on Zazzle. Problem after problem. It would appear that even your technical staff don't understand how things work.
All my designs have been withdrawn and stores closed apart from the railway store which insiists it cannot be closed because it contains products.

Hi @kennethwfd,
As mentioned in my previous reply, if you wanted more assistance we were more than happy to help via email.
I have explained that the designs, although originally on ornaments, were transferred by the customer(s) to different products. This means that you would receive a different amount to what you would receive on an ornament as said products are a different price to ornaments. The royalty rate you would receive would then change to your default royalty rate which you can change in your account here - https://www.zazzle.com/my/account/defaultroyalty
If you would like a full breakdown of all the royalty calculations I will be happy to send it on to you via email.
If you would would not like customers to be able to transfer your designs to other products, you can turn off this option. Navigate to your store > settings > advanced settings and uncheck the "enable design transfer option".
I am very sorry to hear that you have chosen to delete all of your products and close your stores as we would have been happy to help. Myself and the other Community Team members always strive to assist members of the Community as best and as quickly as possible.
That said, if you need any more help, please don't hesitate to reply here or to follow up with us via email. Thank you!

I am always having problems with Zazzle.
The two latest. Product https://www.zazzle.co.uk/new_forest_show_2014_tractor_parade_mug-168927441613814765 appears on the marketplace, but go to my New Forest shop and there are no products. This has been going on for two weeks
Next, I withdrew the remaining cleared funds. £27.46, and know that there is a £2.50 handling charge, so the pending payment showed as £24.96. but I have only received £22.46
Then the help centre replied - with an email apparently written by a robot, asking for details and going into great length as what to do if your issue is with a purchase.
I've neglected my eBay business, but created some 30 new listings and immediately sold £33 worth of photographs. £19 profit. Due to having a good seller record, eBay trust me to deliver the goods and pay immediately. If only I had created 3,000 eBay listings instead of 3,000 Zazzle listings which have earned me this year out of 12 sales...wait for it...£2.24.

And another message, again I have "violated" Zazzle's policies, this time by submitting one or more products alleged to be blank, while the image which has been placed on the entire batch via quick create is depicted.

If you look on your royalty report there is a small "t" placed on sales where a customer transferred the design from one product to another. You get your base royalty on transferred products and it is based on the second product's price. It is quite common for customers to do this. Zazzle is not a con and it is possible to make good money here. It is a very complicated system to learn though.

There is no small t or anything to indicate design transfer. The site says I sold three items at £22.50 each.
The same with the eight Easter cards, I should have received about £2.50, total royalties £0.99p
