Why do I have to pay Zazzle marketing fee for products that have 100% Direct Traffic?

I understand how cookies/trackers work. I just don’t get what’s the reasoning behind fees deducted from sales definitely coming from my own promotional efforts? I already hated promoting, they just made me (and I guess a bunch of others) completely stop it. I’m not that gambling type.

(Unpopular opinion, but I also have issues with the cookie duration. If someone clicks a link on pinterest or other social media, then doesn’t like the product that much and closes it, a bit later clicks another link and likes that product enough to buy, why does the first one get the referral? I always shop like that and I guess I’m not alone. I know it’s impossible to perfectly track behaviors, but seems unfair, especially with these new fees.)
