Collections have gone live for those sorts of collections that have recommended slots.

I just saw it now on the product page for a birthday party collection of mine. The "other products from this collection" is no longer a subtle scroll beneath similar products from other sellers. Instead it is a fairly large block of the cover photo for the collection of the first bunch of recommended products. The remaining products are available with a reasonably prominent More Products button.
The other collection types appear exactly the same as before on the product page. This includes cross sell products with a cover photo, an invitation but no recommended products because it's not that sort of collection. (Is this what Custom Grouped will eventually be? A chance to make our own recommended slots?) I have a Halloween party that has a cover photo, invitation and the usual assortment of products from the Craft>Party Supplies department but it's all Bonus products and so the product page appears unchanged.
Hopefully this is a gradual rollout and product pages for collections that don't have recommended products will look like this too.
Bearing in mind that moderator Scott said they have a couple versions so my description may not match what you see for your collections.

I just now had a pleasant time looking through your collections (nice stuff!) but didn't find a birthday party party collection that showed what you've described. Would you be willing to link to it? (Tell me no, and I wouldn't feel put out.)

If it doesn't show as I described when you click this link then they must be A/B testing.

Yes, they're still testing, and it seems only the designer can see it. Thanks for trying!

My first click showed me the first screen shot and the second click from that showed me the second image. When you click "show more products" the second screen shot shows the entire collection. I'm using Brave browser.

Same! I would really like to see what the end goal is here for customer experience.

I noticed that change as well yesterday, but only on Chrome (not Safari and Firefox), on a mac. I like how they look.
However, I'm sincerely hoping that this will roll out to my other cross sell collections that are now entirely bonus products, even though they would fill the required slots if there were any available: graduation, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, Hanukkah.
And also collections of mine that are still cross sell but not in the way Zazzle has now categorized them (ie: business cards & products, among others).
Any thoughts, Scott?

Not really sure.
Again, what you're seeing here is just the start of a project that we've been working on for a while now. It's possible that this could be updated in a few days, but I'm not sure what the plans or timelines look like. There's so many ways that collections are used and we decided to start with the collection types that are most easily understood, which is why you see weddings being the most built-out at launch. In time we'll probably expand and update functionality for more collection types. There's a lot of things that we're still working on.
