Blurry designs on product images

I understand from a previous answer from @Scott  that the design tool uses a lower resolution image. But the problem is that the designs show up blurry on the product images too. Even after I closed the editor by pressing Done, and look at the product page itself.  As if the product image generator used the low-resolution image. Because the larger image I use (one that covers the full wrapping paper vs one that is tiled), the worse the blurring is. I haven't found the required pixel dimensions, so I went with 300dpi.

I'm new here, I've only experimented with 3 products, but because of this issue, I didn't even finish designing them and they are not public.

These are the ones, if someone can look into them. It's not as bad on the scrapbook paper as on the wrapping papers, but it's still there. It makes the products (and the designer) look bad. 😞

I checked it in Firefox and in Chrome, on Windows 10.

Thanks for looking into it.

I agree. Those new large images on the product page have suddenly become blurry. Please look into this.

Agreed, the product image mockups make the designs look blurry. I have had the same problem with tablecloths

I have yet to find any info on I age size for tablecloths or  duvets. There use to be a suggested guide line for product I age size, I have looked everywhere, and canot find it!  In Redbubble if the size is not right it show up a thing to click for the correct size, wish zazzle had that, would sure save time and energy for this Grannie zazzler!

I was here looking for the same answer - does this mean the actual product won't print blurry? It is just the mock-up images on the website?

From what we've been told, yes. It will print fine.

Hi all,

As there is no technical issue present here, I will be moving this thread to 'Create Products'.

Many thanks,

Your links just go to blank create-your-own templates. But

... It's not as bad on the scrapbook paper as on the wrapping papers,

The design area for wrapping paper rolls when you chose horizontal placement instead of tiled is 30" x 36".  That's pretty darn big for one non-tiled image. The wrapping paper sheets are 19" x 29". The scrapbook paper though is only 8.5" x 11" max.  Don't know what image you're trying to use but it makes sense to me that it looks better on the scrapbook paper than the much much larger wrapping paper where it's getting blown up more.

@ColsCreationsI thought that has something to do with it. Though if the image resolution is right, then it shouldn't be blurry at all. And I use the right size images, that's why I think the mockup generator uses the wrong one somehow. I tried 4.5"x3.33" tile too, hoping it won't be sized down, but that was still blurry. I can't go below that, the elements would be too small. Just to clarify, I might be new to Zazzle, but I'm not new to graphic design, I understand images sizes and dpi.

@Emma I saw a tutorial for the wrapping paper using 15"x18" sized image tiles, which didn't come out blurry on the product images, that's why I thought this could be a recent bug. I tried different images sizes from 36"x30" - 4.5"x3.33" at 300 and 600 dpi and it all shows up blurry. Are you saying it's not a bug? Then what could be the problem?

OK. So I even tried uploading an SVG file, and the product images are still blurry. Some are more than others.

Many products show up blurry now. It is a bug.

I see above reply from Emma that  this  was thought to have been a resolved issue  and was moved - I am deleting  the content of my reply since there is no way to actually delete the reply itself and will be posting in the tech forum.

I've read your comment in the email notification and totally agree with you. And wanted to suggest to start another post, since Emma may have burried this one for good. I don't understand her. 😞

When a product is clicked the initial preview is blurry, if another view is clicked it clears up. Makes it hard to get shoppers past the initial preview when it's so blurry. This has been an annoyance for quite a while, and yes makes designers & product look bad.

I was just about to post about this. The compression is making the product page image presentations blurry, at least on a desktop monitor. They look perfect when expanded and they look great compressed on the "logged out" landing page and in the marketplace but they are totally fuzzy on the main product pages.

I tested it in Chrome and Edge. Cleared cache. No zoom in use. 1080p display, 1920x1080 resolution, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 GPU.

This is most certainly a technical issue and a bad one at that.

Another thread about the problem with blurry product images (to keep things together).
