With the upcoming holiday season, we would like to set you up for success by making your awesome designs intuitive and user-friendly for your holiday customers. For designs with replaceable template images, this means preventing cases of cut-off faces and images not lining up with the design.
The best way to do this is to please make sure your image templates are set to “Fill” mode. This controls how images will be displayed after they are replaced by a user on the template space. Please view and change this setting in the Design tool with an image selected, under “Image templates”.
The “Fill” mode is recommended for 99% of cases, especially for designs that have images of people, animals, and faces. Holiday greeting cards, ornaments, stickers, and mugs are popular categories we know will benefit a lot from this.
To double down on this effort, we have also changed the default setting to “fill” for new image templates. The other options are still available for other use cases. We are also experimenting with more customization features on the product page to support images with “fill” mode to improve the user experience.
