Nifty Bookmarklets update

I noticed today that a change Zazzle made to product pages stopped some of the Nifty Bookmarklets from being able to pick up your referral id when you used them.
I've updated the ones affected so if you use any of them you'll need to delete your existing ones and get the new.
These are the ones affected:Screenshot 2023-11-18 at 20.04.02.png

Get them under the "Other Nifty Tools" menu in the left nav bar here: https://niftytoolz.com/other-nifty-tools

So, the thousands and thousands and thousands of links shared no longer act as referrals?

Members cannot possibly edit/remove the many thousands of shared links.

What are your thoughts re this change?

If I understand correctly what you're saying, I think you've maybe misunderstood what I'm saying, @CreativeLeahG. Links made using the Nifty bookmarklets prior to the change that Zazzle made are all ok. Nothing else is affected and certainly not any sharing using Zazzle's own sharing tools.

Since the change anyone using the bookmarlets would have seen rf=undefined in the link text they were given to copy and paste. It was pretty obvious and people using the given link text would have noticed and corrected it.

Only with the ProductViewsAnimator would it not be obvious but I know from my server logs that the PVA bookmarklet hasn't been used much since the change.

Some may have slipped through the net but for any individual it wouldn't amount to many.

I hope that corrects any misunderstanding 🙂

What was the change Zazzle made?

In the product page code they changed the name of the variable to which the logged-in users referral code was assigned.

It was an 'under-the-hood' change which only affected my bookmarklets as they used the old variable name.

Nothing else would have been affected and Zazzle's own sharing tools would have worked as usual.
