Even customers find the new design tool hard to use, if they want to actually edit the design to add their own elements. I've already gotten two requests from customers to add an element (such as a logo or monogram), because they've tried it and it doesn't work for them. I'm happy to help them, since it only take a minute to download their element, add it to the design where they want it, then post it direct-only and send them a link. But still, those minutes add up, and I wonder how many customers just get frustrated and leave?

The descriptions for the template fields have also vanished. This makes it impossible for customers to know how to fill out the template. Even when I choose “allow editing on product page” the template does not show on the product page. Customers have to click to enter the editing tool where they will see a list of unlabeled fields. This completely messes up designs I’ve been selling for years with complex templates. I often put extra fields labeled with a different font option or text size. A lot of my best selling designs won’t work anymore.
The designations text1, text2, etc. no longer work either. The design tool reorders the template fields in ways that don’t work for every design.

That dark gray background is not helping. Sometimes I have to add a white background just to see what I'm doing.

In the last week or 2, I've already walked a few customers through making simple changes on my designs. Besides written explanations I end up sending them screen shots as well. It takes time to do that. And since they have contacted me through Zazzle chat, it all comes in as 3rd party. Ugh!

Yea for the life of me I fail to see how making the customer go in to the actual design to edit a simple name or upload a change in picture is "easier" than the simple template fields that used to be on the product page when you opened it?
