Feedback for New Product: Desk Mats.

"neoprene material with polyester top" - I'm guessing the answer will be NO since it doesn't say laminated, but could you use a wet or dry erase marker on these?

@ColsCreations I would say no to using a dry erase marker (unless the mats are machine washable - and it doesn't mention anything about cleaning.) I have a desk mat and there more like a huuuuuuge mouse mat material (ie thin diving suit)

I seem unable to "transfer" existing designs to this product as of yet.

@Tutuzdad if you search for mouse pad after transfer this design - you can find it that way. Ideally though it should be able to be found under the term Desk Mat

It needs to be listed in the CYO templates. So far, the only way I can find it is by repeatedly coming back here.

Is it just me, or are the in-situ images showing unrealistic distance between user and object (notebook/keyboard)? The images look nice, however ...

My keyboard is on a tray in front of and beneath the edge of the desktop. If I used my notebook only, it would be at the edge of the desktop. Just my opinion.

The image may have been chosen to help show off the product.

It's likely that everyone's workstation setup is going to be slightly different, but discussion of setup and ergonomics is probably best to happen in another conversation. It certainly could be a worthwhile conversation to have, especially if folks are experiencing discomfort.

Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to have one extra in-situ with a regular, full-sized (perhaps also black?) keyboard placed slightly rotated on one angle of the mat to not fully cover the design. Just a thought.

Love these, great addition to mousepads. All looks fine after a quick try and the previews look great, both in color vibrance and choice of in-situ. And the price is good, too. 5 stars out of 5 from me.

For Dimensions 31.5" x 15.5" I was able to able use a (Width 3456 x 1728 Height) image. I'm also playing with Midjourney V5 new Aspect Ratio settings.  For now, with 3456x1728 Pixel Image size, fit almost perfect:  https://www.zazzle.com/z/3egte1iv?rf=238622491566628624

I ordered one and I do love it!  This replaces my mouse pad (and works very well!), is comfortable to lean on and makes my keyboard extra smooth to type on.  My only complaint is the product print area is more of a gray, not white.  So, since white does not print...any white areas of your design will actually be light gray instead.  I am updating my designs accordingly and will have to "hide" many of my designs (such as buffalo check, etc.)   The product is very well made.

@shelleyw: Thank you so much for mentioning the gray tone. I'll now be more careful about what I place on the mat. Maybe what I'll do is check it first in Photoshop before uploading. Maybe Zazzle should update the in situ images to reflect the gray.

You're very welcome Barbara.  I'm hoping by changing the white to a very light off white (tan, cream, etc.) will work.  I am reordering my design with the background change and I'll report back 🙂

@shelleyw Thank you for your precious feedback on the final product, it's always good to know. Too bad for the greyish undertone.

@Barbara I think, the fact that the material is not a clean white, should be mentioned in the product description, not just shown in the previews. Otherwise, I would be the first one complaining about greyish previews, assuming a bright white material, and "clean up" the previews myself.

I personally would be careful in adding a slightly colored background, this will not solve the issue but may even get it "dirtier". When white is not printed, light colors are just colors printed with less ink coverage, the background will still shine through. Pastel tones printed on a greyish material also will end up looking "dirty".

@James Can you confirm that the pad material is not a clean white, and if yes, can you add this in the product description, so customers (and designers) are aware?

One of my desk mats with a white background (not using the color white, but using the "no background color" option) was just selected as an Editor's Pick. It will look horrible if the background is actually gray. I would love to get confirmation from Zazzle on how to ensure an intended white background can actually be white on this product. Thank you for pointing out the gray print area on this product.

I really hate that these came out just a month after I got one from Amazon, but yours is a little bit bigger, so I'm still gonna get one *sigh*. On another note, I have an abstract mountain scene with white "sky", and it's not white-white, which I think would be too white. Is it that kind of gray? Or can you actually see it's gray and not white (in which case, Zazzle needs to fix their insitus pronto).
