Hi @James - according to the High-Performance Sock version - they have a printed L/R shown on the promo. Is this intentional? Thanks!

Hi @Sara_H ,

Yes, it is. I'm assuming this is because the socks are slightly customized to the shape of each specific foot for added support.

@James Thanks!

Cool - full wrap around printing opens way more options.

As with many of the other clothing offerings I really, really wish there was a unisex option to pick from for department... any of my designs could be worn by any sex. I'd rather not have to designate them for male or female as I feel I'm missing out on marketing to way too much of the population.

I agree!

I'm noticing on the Sustainable Premium Crew Sock that it seems like I can upload a pattern and tile it to create a design to cover the whole sock. There's also the option to add artwork to the left and right calf side of the sock, but if I leave this area blank I do get a warning message that one area of the product was left blank. The mockups all look correct. Is it necessary to add art work to the calf sides if using a full wrap design? I don't believe so, but just wanted to confirm.

@alissag

Add a period to that design space and move it off the design field.  Do it for both sides.  Then customers will not get that warning when they go to purchase.

What does period means, having the same issue?

A period is this punctuation mark, also known as a full stop: .

it would be really cool if the heel and toe color/design could be customized, too.

I was very happy to see seamless socks with a much-needed view of the bottom. First thing I did was work on "mapping out" the design area as a guide. That shows me that the previews are off.

In the first example (live product example here),

Exampe1.png

I added a center line that does indeed match up to the center of the sock in the previews. I then added the other lines to figure out the top & bottom and upper & lower areas of the sock.

The previews all make visual sense, except for the Angled one. There's something off with this one.  If you focus on the dark blue "lower inside bottom" area, you can see in the Top and Bottom previews it's just on the bottom of the sock, it doesn't overlap to the top. You can even see the red border line in the Bottom view. The Right view seems correct as well because it's a flat sock, once you put your foot into it the blue area would flatten out into being the bottom. But if you look at the Angled view, much of that blue area seems to be over what would be the top part of the sock. And if you look where I circled in gray, you can see that the views don't match.

In the second example (live product example here), I used the same template as above but this time I toggled off the section colors and instead applied a background color to the "Left calf side" design area to identify that design space. In the Left and Top previews, that design area is clearly abutted to the center line. But here again something is off with the Angled view as the design area is quite a bit over/past the center line in this one.

I know previews can't be exact, and if you are using an all-over pattern design these things might not even be noticeable, but if you're trying to place something exactly the previews are crucial and something is off here, mainly with the Angled views I think.

The design space for the high performance ones has a slightly different width to the size of the regular ones. So that makes tiling some patterns a challenge, as bits start to bleed over the seam that shouldn't. I'm now hiding edges with shapes in the background colour to make sure the wrong bits don't stick over in the other sock type.

Would be nice if we had a unisex option for Marketplace department.

I'm excited for these socks, the 360 wraparound is awesome! A word of warning for designers: If they are like the ones on another POD site, fine details turn out blurry, making bold designs much more suitable than detailed ones.

not sure that is is necessary to have to choose a gender

The pictures show a white line running down the middle of the back and the bottom. Will this show up when printed? It seems to show on any that are solid colors or wrap around with a color that makes the line visible.

Thanks for your detailed images @ColsCreations  and for your comments also @Harmony@LMGildersleeve , @Beautiful_Vibe , Let me pass these on and see what we can find out,

The information contained in the table looks like it might be very useful. But what exactly are you showing us?

Take an example in the table below:  fun mens. If I put this into Zazzle search I don't get 6,600 results.
If I put fun mens socks, I don't get 6,600 results.

Can you clarify what this table is showing? Thanks.

Hi @PlayfulPixel ,

I'm missing the titles on the columns for this particular announcement. But if you look at others, these are keywords and their average search numbers. So you can gauge which ones you might want to use and design for.

I'm super excited with these new sock options and the mock-ups actually showing the bottom and backs of the socks. But, I keep running into an issue where the left sock repeat looks perfect, but the right sock repeat, even though it's exactly the same, won't line up correctly. Is anyone else having this issue? Know how to fix it? Thanks 🙂

The previews are slightly off in various ways and shouldn't be trusted. It's the design view that needs to line up, which you can do for seamless images either by using "fit" or using the right values in the patterns tool (for the basic sock, that'd be a width of either 10.5, 5.25 or 3.5). This is the same for the left and right socks, so you can just copy/paste once it's done. All this won't make it line up on the high performance socks, because the width is different and the images will move slightly... the best bet is to use patterns where being slightly off won't be too visible at the seam.

It would be nice if they were also available in sizes for children and babies 😉

Love the new socks! I was able to adjust my pattern to create a completely seamless print! Thank you!

This is great! Thanks!

Question... I read in the crew socks description that it is full cmyk but I recall that the general guidelines for images says rgb. Any recommendation?

Thanks.

PenguinPower

All printing is still done in CMYK, it’s just that now some printing processes use extended palettes to produce a wider gamut. It’s not that printing has switched, it’s just now ‘safer’ to leave a file in RGB and expect it will look like the preview, whereas in the past, if you didn’t convert you might be surprised at your outcomes.

Zoopi

Thank you! Good to know about the extended palettes.

Finally getting a little bit of time to play with these. There's no sizing information. Are they supposed to be one size fits all?

Yep -  it's in the "about this product" section "

  • True One Size Fits All (Size 5 Female to Size 11 Male)

Cat
Honored Contributor III

Thank you! I never think to look there because that section is so hidden away. I wonder if any customers even see it there. @James - don't know if this is possible or not, but it would be great if there was something that said "one size fits all" where it normally would be if there were multiple choices.

Related to the preview:

Why does the angled view show the inside of the sock? That side's not where the left/right calf stuff prints, so why show it? It's the only place right now where you can see the side of the sock in a "worn" position.

Might we have an option where the sock fronts aren't shown upside down? Any one-way pattern on a sock looks goofy being presented in that fashion.

Exactly!

I have some all over print socks that sell very well. Would you suggest that I transfer these same designs on the new crew socks? Or begin with all new designs on crew socks?
