Gradient Color Schemes For Font

I've noticed that unless a creator uses an outside paint shop that it's impossible to get gradient colors for your font. But if you use a gradient color for your font from an outside source then the customer no longer has the ability to customize their text on a product because the text has to be whatever you created it to say.

Is there a Zazzle feature that I am not aware of to get gradient colors? If not. Doe's Zazzle foresee a possible design studio upgrade in the near future?

I would love to be able to apply gradients or other overlays to the template text!

I suspect the only way to get editable text that can have gradients or patterns or whatever within it is to use the text as a mask, but this would require first converting text to a raster image. About 10 or so years ago, I worked with video slideshow software for which a clever programmer figured it out, but it wouldn't have worked so well on a large and busy platform such as this. However, a decade has passed, so all we may need is another clever programmer.  (I searched but couldn't find a winking emoji.)

I know this is a layered topic. No pun intended but it wouldn't be so bad if they would also allow us as original creators to upload our own unique fonts and not be limited by their selective list of fonts. This way we are actually original creators and not just another creator who has used the same font hundreds of times creating new products with bleh font. 😜

Zazzle will never allow designers to upload their own fonts, and for very good reason. A number of supposedly "free" fonts are copyrighted or limited to personal use, and therein lies danger.

Zazzle now has many more fonts than they ever did before, and though it can be difficult finding the right font because of having to go through so many of them, you can usually find one that works. On the other hand, it would definitely be nice if they came up with a way for us to use them as masks. When I was able to do this in the video software, marvelous effects were possible: sky, pattern, scenery, the world was my oyster.
