Has anyone received their tax 1099 form from Z yet?

In the US the IRS has already opened up tax season earlier than normal. We usually receive a 1099 form my Z each year but I have not received mine yet and I'm getting ready to file my tax returns. Has anyone else received theirs? Has something changed in the time frame we are to expect this form? I thought it was to be received by us by the end of January?

Thank you in advance

Does Zazzle have any plans to make our tax documents available within our accounts instead of mailing them? (Sorry, I know this has been asked before but I don't recall the answer.)

I'm afraid, not @MasterpieceCafe , this might be something we can look into in the future but for now, we're sticking to mailing them out. Anyone who would like a digital version can reach out to us via email to request one for sure. 😊

Thanks, I emailed to get a digital copy. IMO it would be easier for us and Zazzle to make these available within our accounts. Always accessible and never lost. And I would imagine it must be cheaper than mailing.

I just received a message back saying "It has been advised 1099 forms were sent out on 1/31/22 and we must allow 30 days from when the physical copies are sent out before issuing digital copies."

Thanks for the update. I just emailed them too. Oh, well. There goes that...

I just this minute realized your icon show two figures standing above a crowd looking at a sunset, and is not a creepy looking guy with sideburns and a bushy beard, super squinty eyes, and a big broad nose, wearing a yellow hat.

I also do Postcrossing!

OMG Windy...you made me snort my tea..lol. Thanks for clearing that up for me...I totally saw creepy guy in yellow hat.

Too bad. Zazzle is the only place I work with that doesn't to digital 1099s (or direct deposit, yes, not too subtle of a hint, but the last mail was delivered in a rain storm and the mailbox was left open so it took an extra day to deposit so I could dry it out 🙄😁)

I was wondering the same thing. It would really be so much more convenient.

I actually received mine in the mail today!  Thank you Z!

Hi! I was just wondering about the 1099s. Thanks for the update! I still haven't received mine yet as of Feb. 26th. It's been about a month from Jan. 31. Should I still be expecting to receive that in the mail, or should I be concerned? 😅

I still have not received my mailed copy of the 1099-MISC form.

Customer service tells me "Upon further investigation it seems all of your payments were made via PayPal and as such you would need to fill out a 1099-k. You can locate this here: https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-1099-k.

I have the 1099 PayPal form but that has nothing to do with Zazzle's form. The 1099 only shows the amounts deposited into my PayPal, not how much Zazzle paid me.

Can someone please explain to me what is going on? I am beyond frustrated. I have inquired several times and I am getting nowhere.

I hadn't received my 1099 either and so I emailed Zazzle to ask them about it and they told me today that they only issue 1099s if you made $600 or more in referrals or if they issued you a payment of $10 or more in royalties. I then realized that even though I did make over $10 in royalties, it went to my account and I used it as credit. Therefore Zazzle never issued me any payments so that is why I didn't receive a 1099. If you are certain that you made over these thresholds and Zazzle sent you payment, then we were advised to email the Earnings department and ask them for a digital version of your 1099.

Thank you for this info. I made over the thresholds and $ went to PayPal account. Do you have email for the Earnings dept by chance?

Sure! no problem. There isn't really a direct email. It was the link that @James gave us which was this: via email

It takes you to the help center and then you just continue when it asks if your questioned was answered you choose the "sorry but I need more help" option and then it allows you to send an email. I contacted the Earnings department. It lets you choose which department to contact. Good luck!

Thanks! This explains why I didn't get my 1099! Was wondering if that was why.

I also received this same vague response. Did you land anywhere with this?

Hi James... I'm desperately looking for help for my 1099 which I still haven't received and I found this post in the forum so I'm reaching out for any help you can provide.  I've been in contact with Zazzle support via chat, more times than I'd like to talk about.  Originally they told me I had to wait 30 days after 1/31 before I could declare it lost.  So I did. Now, Every time I speak with support they tell me they "have to contact the department that handles this issue" and "they will follow up with me via email"  and either they never do or they get back to me telling me to go to IRS.gov and fill out a 1099-k which has nothing to do with what I'm asking for.  I've tried to explain it in every way possible - I've asked for a manager (they said that wont help because that's who gave them their info) and it's mid March now I need this tax document.  Please help.

Hi James, how about international sellers? Last year I received mine 2 weeks after deadline (extended to last day of may due to COVID, btw...) so money lost (not much but always free beer ;), for example in Poland we have time to 30 April unless govt. changes something. And oversea mailing is preety much lottery... DL option would be best...

Hi James,

I'm getting my taxes together (they are due on the 19th in Massachusetts) and Im realizing I never got my 1099-Misc mailed to me. Would someone be able to send me a digital copy today or how I should reach out to?

Thanks,

Paula

Did you spend your royalties? If so, you won't get a 1099.

I was in the same boat.

Actually, I got my 1099 from Zazzle today.

I got mine yesterday, but it isn't correct. I pulled all my paypal transactions, and they didn't add up to what the 1099 said. Double-checked the amounts against my Zazzle payment history, and they match up. No clue how you can get the 1099 incorrect when they have the payment history correct. Annoying.

Hi @lewister,

I'm sorry to hear that there was an issue with your 1099 form. We would be happy to try and help resolve the issue for you if you would like to contact our wonderful customer service team here.

Thanks for your patience with this!

Pádraig 🙂

Thanks for the heads up. I will be on the look out.

I thought the amount on mine was incorrect also, so I contacted Zazzle and was told that the referral earnings do not meet the IRS required reporting threshold. And so, only my royalties are included on the 1099 form.

Still haven't received mine.  I have been looking for it since early January, when my spouse did the rest of our taxes.  We are literally waiting on it to be able to file.  Would be *so* much easier if they would just post access to a digital version on our accounts -.-

Still have not received mine either. I think that seems to be the common issue here: post it online like other businesses do.

Agree.  Online access would be great.
