Help me understand "Changes In Digital Content Creation and Usage"

In reviewing the Zazzle policies I have been struggling with this policy, and I hope that I just am misunderstanding it. The way that this is worded it sounds as if  Zazzle is allowing my art to be downloaded into the world, without having to add the design to a physical Product on the Zazzle platform.

This sounds as if someone could download my art and reprint it on their own - off the Zazzle site - for their own profit. Please help me understand. Does this mean what I think it means? Screen-Shot-2022-07-26-at-5.27.27-PM.jpg

It's not your art that can be downloaded that way. It's content that has been specifically earmarked for that purpose (not what is in the MP) and Zazzle has specifically licensed it as such. To get a solid idea of what that means, go to Zazzle's home page and go to the left sidebar. At the very bottom of the icon stack you'll see an icon for Create. Go into it and you'll text elements, illustrations and backgrounds. When you click on one of them it takes you into a design tool meant for customers. There they have an expanded selection of set-aside text elements, illustrations and backgrounds (none of them ours) with an option to download them in various formats such as zoom backgrounds or facebook pictures. It would actually be a pretty fun way to make facebook memes. It doesn't involve the designs of regular Zazzle designers at all.

Thank you, I hope Zazzle will also respond. 😢

There were lots of discussions about this on the old forum when the project was first launched. Those of us who chose to participate had to sign a special agreement, and work published for download is created using a different system than the marketplace designs, so there's no way that work published in the marketplace is available for download - it's a whole different program.

This confusion over the wording of the TOS was exactly what all the buzz was about on the old forums.  It is really a crying shame that none of those old threads have been archived for future reference as they might be very helpful in clearing up the confusion that still exists when people try to make sense out of Zazzle's legalese.
