Hello.
When I tried to check the messages, the site asks for my phone number for verification, but when I put my number in, it says it is invalid number even though it is not. Any suggestions to solve this issue?

If you can login and then access—
My Account>Account Settings>Phone>Once you enter your phone number, there should be a verified checkmark to the right of it ,this happens only after the following——Zazzle will send you an SMS to verify your account.This number will be used to keep your account secure.
Your phone number may not be verified yet.
If this is not the case, then only Zazzle tech can solve it. Submit a ticket, or email tech, explaining your issue thoroughly.

Thanks, but I live in Canada and tried my phone number with +1. I tried with my laptop, tablet, and cell-phone using chrome, but the site still says 'invalid number.'

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried to add and verify my phone number, and the site still says 'invalid number.' I will email the tech support to solve the problem.

It seems to take them alot of time for Z to respond to anything, no matter what it is. Indexing is slow, responding to posts in the forum is negligible at best, etc. So it may be that the verification process is S L O W also. But your best course of action is to email tech, and hope they respond soon. And/or call Customer Service on Monday morning, and get them to write a ticket and throw it over to tech support. Matter of fact, do both, email and call. And there is also chat, when they are available. So you have several options.
