Member adding one of my products to a "private collection."

Hello.

I received notification that a member has added one of my products to a private collection. I am not aware how a member can "add" another member's products to their collection(s). I tested it from both a product page and a collection page but cannot figure out how one can accomplish this. Can anyone shed light on this? Thank you.

This is how a customer can create a private collections.

They are viewing your store's Product page. Each product has a little hamburger link with a "+" on it. You can see this when you hover over the product's image. If they click on that link a pop up appears and they are allowed to make a Collection and add your product.

It's a great opportunity for the customer to make a Christmas "wish" list.

I’m not seeing it.  Are you using a Windows pc?  I’ve tried Safari, Firefox and Chrome on an iPad and the only hamburger with a + on it is below the image and says “Tap / click on image to see more RealViews”.  It is unclickable.  There is nothing when the image is clicked but the RealViews.  On the image are 2 hamburgers, one for sharing and one for liking.  Hovering over the image does nothing.  I wonder if it’s just not doable on an iPad.

Perhaps you should report that on the technical issue's thread? I was using a computer.

Thanks

If helps, it is on the right top corner of the image. It is hidden and only shows up when you hover over it for a while. See screenshot.

Thanks for the images. Unfortunately I can’t bring the hamburgers up.  Are you using an iPad?

I’ve hovered inside the photo, on the perimeter and on the outside, all around. If those buttons are there, they’re very finicky.  As an aside, in photos, the little “i” button, to bring up photo info is also finicky. Sometimes it works, more often it doesn’t. When it does work, it seems like it’s always in a different place.  Such is the lot of an iPad user 🙄

I am on a desktop and can see it okay. I trust it is the device. I checked to see if I get it on my cell phone, and I do not. (There may be a way to do so that I am unaware of).

Thanks. I’m inclined to agree that it’s probably device related.

What is a while? I am on a laptop with FireFox. No hamburger after 1-2 minutes of hover. I do tend to forget that I am on a laptop, as I use it with a monitor and keyboard. I've never seen the hamburger (even on the desktop, although I might be remembering wrongly).

I see it now; thank you LM! I figured it may be something like that but could not figure out how it gets done. Was focusing on the creator end, not the customer end. Thanks again.

Affiliates also add items to collections and curate their own collections, so it could mean you're going to get some extra sales!

That would make sense. Thank you.

1. Here is a more clear description of how to find that Collections link.

2. Go to your Product tab in public view.

3. Hover over a product to see the hamburger + sign.

I hope this helps. I am on a computer so your view may be different on an iPad or mobile.
