My last thread has been removed and attached to an older thread.

With frustration, I started a new thread about the issue of watches still not being found in searches.

I made a point at the end about the reason why I'd created a new thread - it being that adding a post to an old discussion didn't bring it to the top - in other words, it wouldn't be seen.

I checked to see responses just now, only to find my thread has disappeared. However, I then found it had been attached to an older thread - which defeated the object of my creating a new thread in the first place.

If we're being watched and censored, then it would be a good idea to have threads bounce to the top when most recently commented!

Infuriating indeed. And instead of merging threads it would be nice if issues after WEEKS or MONTHS are finally fixed. Thanks.

Take heart, at least you know for sure that one of the mods read your post!

That was me. There was a few reasons for this:

  1. I moved it into the existing discussion thread to keep all comments in one place. In situations like this one, when I report a bug I like to add a link to the discussion thread so that stakeholders can see the impact of the issue. In order to do this I definitely need all feedback/reports/observations contained in one discussion.
  2. Creating a new thread effectively pushes out other reports. Consider what the Technical forum would look like if a new post was created every day that a bug wasn't resolved. It would be impossible to find anything, both for you guys and for us.
  3. By default, posting in a thread should bump that conversation up to the top of the board. This is how it works for me, and this is how it works when I'm logged in as you, Nigel. As of now, the discussion is at the top of the page in the Technical forum.

We've already made the team aware of this issue, and hopefully we'll have an update to share soon.
