Order a sample - invitations

O wow, I just noticed this nice button "order a sample" on invitations!
It's as is, not with a big "SAMPLE" text over it, but:
I rate this as a big improvement, thanks!

Where are you seeing this? I just checked a few of my invitations and don't see it.

@CrazyMermaid  I just saw it on Brave. But you're right: on FF it does not show, so maybe it's a beta test?
I hope this will go through!

Are they FREE samples? If so, that's a very BAD idea! It's an open invitation to dishonest scammers to cut us out of everything and steal our designs for free.

I'm not seeing that either.  But in a way, that takes away our one invitation sales (I know they are pennies, but if you get quite a few, it does add up). But potentially if they have a high enough quality scanner, they could just copy and print themselves couldn't they? I feel like 'sample' across it is something that should be kept on, if they are going to be adding free samples as an option.

Weird, I wrote a response and it has disappeared (sorry if that one ends up posting and this duplicates). I'm not seeing that option either.  I do have some concerns about it.  I mean I do get quite a few single invitation orders, I assume for samples.  I know it's penny's each time, but they do add up to a decent little chunk.  But I think my bigger thing is that IF they do end up offering these for free, I do think 'Sample' should be watermarked/printed across them.  There are scanners that are good enough to use these invitations to either give themselves a free 'digital' version to email, or print copies themselves somewhere else. I don't think 'Sample' is a problem to safeguard our designs.  They still easily get to see the paper and print quality, the colors, etc.

IDK, maybe I'm thinking about it the wrong way.

It must be a test, as I'm not seeing it either, but if they are free samples without a watermark that's definitely NOT a good idea. I hope we can opt out!

While I can understand a free sample, they should have to have 'sample' across them.  Otherwise people can easily high-res scan them and essentially have either a free 'digital download', if not actually print them themselves.  They will still get the sense of the paper and print quality, and colors.  But I agree with Connie. I don't want to be cut out completely.

I'm not seeing it either, but I'm wondering about issues with licensed placeholder images. Like if you have a license to display the image digitally, but not to sell printed copies? The "force user to replace" feature was supposed to deal with that, but if people can order a sample with the placeholder image wouldn't that be violating the license?

Yes it does Cat. Zazzle is enabling the bad uses of placeholder user agreements upon doing this.

Giving away a sample is opening us the creator up to law suits.

Gotta be a test. The option is not found on my invites.

It's right under the product title.

If you click the button you get

ColsCreations_1-1749839256744.png

Notice it says "purchase a sample".

Adding to cart "as-is" with orange button- it was $2.85 for the invite I tried. Using the personalize button, editing, adding to cart - also $2.85.

Only getting to see the option in one browser (which also shows the new customize layout someone else mentioned, will add screenshot of that later). Looks like it's just what it says - a quick & easy way to BUY one invite as a sample without having to step through customizing it.
