Show Me threads question

Are the Show Me threads for affiliates to find products? I usually only post products in the Affiliates threads, because I don't see the point of posting them in Show Me if nobody is going to promote them. Or is there some other advantage to them?

The Show Me forum has always been a bit of a mystery to me... but with the new forum, the Nifty tool can pull from those posts.  This means that affiliates that use Nifty can promote from these threads.  It was/is my understanding that even before the new forum that their were affiliates that did search them to find products to promote.  Even knowing this I tend to fail to share in them... I should do so more often me thinks...lol.

I do promote other designers' products in my Pinterest account but since the change to the new community Z forums just from the Show Me board.

I post in Show Me when life circumstances make it impractical to do something more productive in that moment.

I don't usually post to the Show Me forum, just because doing so could occupy 90% of my time. I get bored easily 😀

One advantage (other than the Nifty one mentioned by @PacifierCity) is that the search engines can find products posted in the Show Me forum because it's public.

I post in Show Me only randomly, but I really should do it a bit more often. One small bonus to posting there is that a product might be clicked on to get a better look at it. Your view count goes up. The other thing is that you never can tell who's looking through the posts. It could be someone who's excellent at affiliating.
