Ungrouped, Grouped or Recommended - what is best option for collection?

I use either grouped or ungrouped. If I have had to block out parts of a design with elements, I leave it grouped. If I have created a pattern with grouped objects I leave it grouped. If I am only grouping things to simplify my working process I will ungroup at the end. If I want the customer to NOT change part of what I have deisgned I leave it grouped. Otherwise I will ungroup wherever possible so customers can change and personalise, so for most lettering and numbering I will template them (ungrouped) and for single design elements I also make templated so customer can personalise if they wish.

Read this slowly and I think it will make sense. 🙂

I think maybe @blushroses was asking about the grouping feature within the collections @Wildart not the grouping in the design area??? To answer that, I use the 'ungrouped' to arrange items the way I want them to be viewed if a customer visits the actual collection page. I also sort the grouped selection for cross-sell collections to the way I like it shown on the product pages. I set the 'Zazzle Marketplace' option to 'Grouped' for these cross-sell collections and 'Ungrouped' for other types. Not sure if this is the best solution but it's what I'm going with at the moment.

yes, exact - for collection, and thank you @Baylee, i will try this

what about recommended?

@blushroses  In my experience recommended does not work. It leaves the Christmas display in place ... My guess is that it is because the collection does not get any views any more.

I personally have all collections sorted with "Recommended". As I understand that moves the products that will probably sell best according to Zazzle to the top. Manual would be good if you want a certain product highlighted as one of the first items above the rest in a collection. Of course you still manually have to place that product there in the backend.
