What should be the royalty rate

I hope you’re all doing well! With the holiday season approaching, I’m working on setting a fair royalty rate for my upcoming products and wanted to see if anyone had insights or recommendations.

If you’ve set holiday rates before, I’d love to hear your thoughts on what works well in terms of percentage or structure. Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

Some people lower their royalties for the holiday season and some don't. My feeling is that the lower rate might generate more sales, but I wonder if those increased sales are offset by the lower rate on them, particularly since Zazzle has been known to discount items as much as 50%. I've even seen the occasional 75%. So I stopped lowering my royalty after doing it just once the first year I was here.

There are people who've been here longer than I have (close to 11 years), and they lower their rates, so my way of doing things doesn't mean it's the right way. You'll have to decide for yourself.
