Wrong Final Amount for Sale

HeatherMarie

I just had a sale that was *not* referred but it still ended up with the percentage as if it had been referred by 3rd party. The final earnings were cut nearly in half as if it was 3rd party referred and not "None" like it was. Anyone else see this issue today? This was on an 80 invitation order.

I don't know if this is connected but I had a self-referred sale just now paying 15% for the referral, rather than the 35% I usually get.  Previous self-referrals from a few days earlier are at 35%.

I prefer 35%.

Is it possible it somehow used an old RF code?

Hmm, my referrals amounts have been fine as far as I know but I would have to double check and do the math. If you add up your earnings from the main royalty history page from the sale and the earnings from the referral history from that same sale, it should add up to the correct amount.

I was just reminded about the Ambassador FAQ in an e-mail so here it is: https://www.zazzle.com/assets/graphics/z5/zmisc/ambassador_program/Ambassador_Program_FAQs.pdf

Thanks for the link. I refer my products from my website using the supplied share link, no referral code required.

For as long as I can remember these referrals have earned 35% commission, in addition to the normal commission.

I don't get many, and I always check them.

Today's referral earned 15%, not 35%.  No different to the other 35% referrals although it is the first time I have sold that particular product.

Mine were OK as of the 24th (aka, my 'none' ON the 24th were correct).  It wasn't until yesterday that I got ones that were wrong. All the same order though, so not sure how helpful this is.

I'd really appreciate hearing from Zazzle on this concerning issue. I'm experiencing it as well, and have started combing through recent sales to tally up what appears to be incorrect. Why the silence on this?

James has replied to another thread about this:

Has Something Changed with the "None" Category - Zazzle

none percentages as 3rd party 6_26_25.png

Same here. At least I got my correct royalty for the digital download this am.

Same here. Several “none” referral royalties are calculated as 3rd party royalties, means I got less royalties credited for the sales than I should have.

Seems to have started two days ago on the 24th, as other “none” referrals before that date have been credited with the right royalties.

Thank you so much for pointing this out, without I actually would have not checked and noticed it.

My “None” royalties look fine through 6/24.  Starting on 6/25 and continuing through today I have had 3 “None”s and they all erroneously went through as 3rd Party referral rates with the marketing fee penalty. I sent the info to ProDesignerSupport.

This is ridiculous. Zazzle has some splainin’ to do.

My Non-referred sales and none are not being calculated correctly. Will Zazzle reimburse us for this?

UPDATE: I contacted Zazzle support and all they did was send me the agreement for the new ambassador program. I explained again and asked them to read my original e-mail. It comes off as quite condescending to just send me policy updates that I'm fully aware of as a Zazzle member of almost a decade.

I did have a one sale this morning that was a Non-Referral and the earnings were correct on that one, only, after three days of wrong ones. The thing I'm most worried about is my trust in Zazzle as a designer and hoping we don't get even more changes any time soon. Things are shakey enough in these times.

Thank you all for posting your examples. We are investigating this.

Just had another “None” treated like a 3rd party referral. Royalty should have been 5.04 but was only credited 2.92.

Hi...so does investigating mean there is a problem and you are looking for a fix? Could an update please be provided before the end of today as not to carry this into the weekend....Thank you

6/29 Just had another “None” treated like a 3rd party referral. Royalty should have been 7.41 but was only credited 3.51.

Here are a bunch more examples from the past 24 hours. The only one that isn't being charged the marketing fee is the download (which I grayed out).

I received a few correct payments earlier today, but now I'm once again only receiving half of what I should. I really hope Zazzle will compensate for the missing earnings.None_1.jpg

I’ve found same issue with my none sales as well.

Anybody happen to notice if this coincides with the notice I now get when coming to the website first thing in the morning about Zazzle and cookies that I have to click "ok" to get past?

Do you suppose this might be why we are getting so many third party sales?

I really don't know. I was just curious if anybody noticed if the two items went together at the same time because I never used to get a "cookie warning" when I come to the site for the first time of the day. With everything going on behind the scenes here at Zazzle for about the last year, could be.......

I created a couple of one-off ornament designs for a customer.  Sent them email links so they could go straight to the product and purchase.  They purchased.

The sales show as third party.  There was NO third party.  I used the Zazzle links. No RF code because you don't need one.  I am an Ambassador.  I should have either got a self-referral or they should show as no referral.  Third party seems incorrect.

If they entered Zazzle originally from a 3rd party link within the current cookie window, it would still have 3rd party. Your link cannot override a previously acquired cookie.

THANK YOU for bringing this up! I wasn't paying super close attention because I don't get many "none" sales but now I'm seeing that few that I do have are 50% lower than they should be. This is unacceptable. This is why we need transparency. THIS is why our reports should've been updated to provide that when the new terms took effect. And I really hope Zazzle makes this right (and not by changing them to 3rd party sales).

Here's my latest. My commission - after the excess royalty fee is deducted - should be $10.19. And instead it's $5.06.

Thanks for your post. I was so surprised today. It has happened to me too. I didn’t have a none sale in quite a few days but I just got one and the royalty is almost half of what it should be for a none sale. It’s very discouraging and frustrating not to know what the problem is. Hopefully it will get fixed soon.
