Zazzle, in the absence of even an 'acknowledgment' of the affiliate redirect issue, I feel I have no alternative due to facing massive losses to take the next step.

Re: Complaint Regarding Affiliate Program Redirect
Dear Zazzle Legal Department,
I am writing to express my concern about a change made (without notice to affiliates at a date unknown) to your affiliate program that I believe is unfair and potentially illegal. Specifically, I am referring to the redirect that you 'appear' to have implemented that takes affiliate referrals (when shared on social media platforms) to a page that contains other sellers' products instead of the product page that we intended to send them to.
Specifically re P2 program. If I send a customer to MY product page they have the option there to buy, review my collection and only see a small carousel of products re other sellers. However, that appears to nolonger be the case. Referrals are instead now going to a 'landing page' which shows my product (minus product details) and 65 products from other sellers. Ie creating a situation where I now have 1 in 66 chance to make a sale and gain a referral.
I did not spend years creating content and forwarding HUGE volumes of traffic to Zazzle for this to be the case.
I believe that this redirect is a violation of the terms of our affiliate program agreement. The agreement states that affiliates will be paid a commission on all sales generated through their referrals. However, the redirect is effectively preventing me from earning commissions on sales of my own products.
In addition to being a violation of our agreement, I believe that the redirect is also deceptive. Customers are not aware that they are being taken to a page that does not contain the ability to purchase the product (without following another link) that they are looking for and they are instead swamped once more with 'choice'. This could lead to customers becoming frustrated and abandoning their purchase altogether.
I am requesting that you immediately remove the redirect and allow my referrals to go to the product pages that I send them to. I am also requesting that you compensate me for any lost commissions that I have incurred as a result of the redirect.
If you are able to reasonably confirm and demonstrate however your redirect is legal, not deceptive, not intended to create a loss of referral income I will reconsider my complaint.
If however the 'radio silence' myself and other creators have met with so far re this issue continues, I will have no option but to forward my complaint to:
- California Attorney General's Office: https://oag.ca.gov/
- Federal Trade Commission (FTC): https://www.bbb.org/us/dc/washington/profile/government-offices/federal-trade-commission-washington-dc-1126-97001826
- Better Business Bureau (BBB): https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint
I urge you to take my complaint seriously and take immediate action to address this issue.
Note: Recently a Zazzle Team Member confirmed members like myself who raise concerns 'frequently' may be removed from the community. Concerns are raised 'frequently' when they are serious and yet not addressed. I hope that will not be the case here, as censorship is not the answer. That will merely escalate the issue. This complaint takes the form of an open letter for FULL transparency and because it affects many other affiliates not just myself.
Sincerely,
LeahG

Once again, while other lesser issues receive an acknowledgment, nothing here (no response to email either) not even something to say 'received'.
As such I have posted it here. https://www.complaintsboard.com/zazzle-b119521#complaints
What a sad day.

Redrafted complaint .. awaiting publication

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Zazzle,
I'm addressing a crucial issue that has had a profound impact on Zazzle affiliates, particularly those involved in the Promoter 2 Program. This matter revolves around an apparent redirect situation that significantly alters the referral process, affecting our ability to direct traffic to our intended product pages.
Specifically, the current redirect leads potential customers from social media platforms to a landing page showcasing 65 other sellers' products, rather than our intended store page. This page lacks our product details and the option to directly purchase, diminishing our chances of making a sale. This drastic change effectively reduces our probability of securing a referral to just 1 in 66.
This redirection contradicts the core principles of the Zazzle Affiliate Promoter 2 program, where affiliates receive referral fees exclusively for sales of our own products. This alteration, undisclosed and seemingly unaddressed, has significantly impacted affiliate income. As a proven successful affiliate ( Pro Platinum Seller with around $35,000 earnings in referral fees alone) and seller on your platform, I've witnessed a substantial decline in referrals and sales since this change was implemented.
The terms of the affiliate program explicitly state that the Promoter Program rewards affiliates for driving sales to their own stores and products, emphasizing a 35% referral rate for such sales. This pivotal detail, emphasizing 'our store,' is being undermined by the current redirect practice.
Numerous complaints have been raised via your forum and email, yet this issue has not received any acknowledgment or resolution. Therefore, I am formally requesting the immediate removal of the redirect. Affiliates must have the ability to direct customers to the specific product pages they originally intended. Furthermore, I request fair compensation for the lost commissions resulting from this redirection.
I also bring attention to a recent statement by a Zazzle Team Member (details below) regarding concerns raised within the community. The potential risk of removal for expressing concerns or highlighting issues of significance is troubling and could lead to censorship. Transparency and open communication are critical to resolving these issues without escalation.
This complaint is not only mine but represents the concerns of many other affiliates affected by this redirection issue. I sincerely hope for prompt acknowledgment and resolution, emphasizing transparency and fair treatment within the Zazzle community.
Sincerely,
Leah G

I know, I think there is a review process that seems to be experiencing a delay.
Meanwhile, I think we all know by now we aren't going to get a reply from Zazzle.
All I can do now I delete all my social media links to Zazzle and promote solely from my sites. Damage control. Linkover history will sink but that will not make a jot of difference to me.

I answered where you originally replied to my post, @CreativeLeahG. Just to reiterate, it was only my bookmarklets that were affected and not Zazzle's own sharing tools.
Hopefully that clears it up 🙂

Hi Leah - Our team looked into this and we're unable to reproduce the issue. There doesn't seem to be an issue in our code and may be coming from Pinterest. Someone from our team will follow up with you to ask further questions. Thanks!

Nope, nothing.
I've asked to be removed from the P2 program and after that I will have no vested interest in the landing page issue.

Update re landing page issue and P2 program and 'linkovers'. I ( as many know) have been taking steps to remove all my P2 links to Zazzle and as such reduce the traffic I was sending to Zazzle (for which I saw no benefit since the landing page change).
By deleting over 100,000 pins, it's evident that the bulk of the traffic came from Pinterest.
I hope Zazzle realizes how counterproductive their recent actions have been, given the significant drop in daily customer visits to their platform.
I did ask in my formal complaint that Zazzle 'confirm' that their action was not contravening the terms of the program (which states referrals for P2 direct to the sellers own store page) if that was the case. To date there has been no such confirmation.
I'm nolonger in the P2 program, and in all honestly I am unlikely to do any further affiliating via P1 in light of this. While I regret the impact this may have on other sellers, the lack of support and understanding from some designers to their fellow affiliates has been disheartening. However as those individuals devalued our efforts, they are in no position to complain. I hope Zazzle will take the feedback of its affiliates seriously and reconsider their recent changes even though I am nolonger one of them.
I still support Zazzle creators and will continue to do so via my site.

Hi
Do you use the Pinterest Extension to automatically pin at a click?
I am very new to all this all and started to pin works from Zazzle, both my own and others. I tested these pins and they seemed to work well. Afterwards, I learned about the extension, so installed it and started using it. I created about 20 pins with this. When I tested these, they were taking me to a landing page in the category of the product, not the product itself. It also didn't have my affiliate ID. Lastly, I noticed they only showed in my 'Saved' pins, not 'Created'. I deleted them and pinned them again using the traditional share button and choosing Pinterest. I find these now work. I am not sure about P2 links, though in the regular affiliate pins, the issue appears to be the Pinterest Extension.

It's good that you found the flaw in using Pinterest's "Pin-it" button. Unfortunately for Promoters, that landing page has put a kink in the works. I hope Zazzle gets this back to rights soon.

I noticed about the landing page appearing instead of the product page. It show the images but I think it does not make sense. The visual design of the landing page actually does not seems a store selling page and buyers ccould go away.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I see now that this happens to my affiliate links as well.
I was searching through to see why I created a product for a customer and sent them the link to the new design, and someone else got the referral.
I tested out Pinterest with same results, this is disheartening and I will be looking into it further.
