Collections and Backend Intergraded ??

Is it possible to put a mark on items or add  another dropdown in the stores backend to let the designer know if the items that are in the 'Optimization Needed' group are in a collection.

I hate to pass over an item in a collection that should be updated before other items. I have old collections that probably show up almost empty because of this. Collections need to be intergraded with the backend. Currently the only connection is the ability to add an item to a collection. There is nothing showing if an item is in a collection. Doesn't matter what collection just that it is in a collection. Oh if tech is reading this - when I try to add an item that I am making to a collection from the final list item page the collections all come up with the green 'remove' button.
