Design Tool Lock

I couldn't find anything on this. I have been meaning to ask for a long time. Is there a way to lock layers when designing? I have found the only way to work on items up front is to hide the layers below. This is not great because I don't know if my text or whatever is lined up to work with the layers below. I have thought to ask about this many times but by the time I finish fixing the item I forget until the next time. It is not a daily thing but it can be so much easier if we can simply lock layers instead of hiding them to be able to work on the above layers. I have sometimes given up on items that could look much better. This happens because of my slow ISP service. If you have super speed it probably isn't an issue. Thanks.   
Also - When I finished this I hit the numbered icon on top. I didn't mean to and just wanted to undo it. I am able to right click and undo but it doesn't always work. It would be great to have an undo button in the forum.

Hit the heading button to change one line of text and the whole thing changes. No way to undo it unless I go into the html. This is not hard to do but undo would be so much easier. I am leaving it for effect on the issue. 🙂

From the Layers panel, select the layer you want to lock, and then click the lock icon. It is on the left.

What kind of machine are you working on ? Locking does not work on my iPad.

I can lock layers only on my desktop and there it is quite easy.

I feel really stupid. I have been using the circle with the line through it on the right and just now checked to find that there is indeed a lock on the left. I have not noticed it until I was told that there is a lock. Sorry. It would be nice if the icons were brighter and easier to see. The colors blend into the background too easy.

you are exactly right, the lock needs to be brighter, right now is very hard to see whether locked or unlocked.

Tech support really would not want your SKs to be  losing their eyesight because of these ghostly locks. It wouldn't be pretty. 😄

kashmier had another good suggestion: "It would be great to have an undo button in the forum."
(I added the following...only for undoing texts in posts/comments that we are currently writing.
So that we don't have to post the comment and then rush to edit before we are blocked from editing it after it is posted.
