It would be nice if designers could submit their best work to editors pick. The few editors picks I have are definitely nor my best work and I feel like my good stuff gets overlooked. That way it would make it easier for editors to sort through products and find good ones to highlight. Maybe editors pick could last a few months then rotate out so search results don't look stuck on the same editors picks every time a customer does a search

As far as I can tell, Zazzle is no longer displaying the Editor’s Pick flags in their marketplace.

Interesting. I haven't searched for anything much lately so hadn't noticed that. The EP flags are indeed not showing in the MP anymore for me, and not even when viewing the product page itself. But, while in the MP view, if you click to view Related designs, than you can see the EP flag above the anchor product at top.

I navigated to the main wedding invites page - https://www.zazzle.com/c/wedding+invitations - and in checking by viewing Related, many of the first page of results are indeed EP's but many aren't. So that's good, its not that they are just hiding the EP designation, it seems they have actually changed the algorithm that formerly was showing page after page after page of EP's first. 👍

In store management, I can see the products that have editors pick, in public view, there is no visible editors pick notation.

An algorithm for compiling editors picks is, or at least should be, based on the type of industry and on the easily accessed data. It seems to work decently in the news industry where stories are analyzed for content and what's commonly chosen by viewers/readers. When it comes to products, you can see it at work on Amazon where it's based on number of views, sales, and positive reviews. YouTube makes huge use of algorithms, but what happens is that whatever you've last viewed is what you're fed ad nauseam., which is good only if you want to see a lot of it. It works for me when I'm on a quest. But here on Zazzle? It appears based mostly on sales, views, and a designer's previous success that all lead to seeing the same products over and over again. There's really no way for the algorithm to predict in the way it's done in news organizations. It's possible that Zazzle has realized these things and is, therefore, downplaying the process.

There is an “Editors Pick” filter you can turn on when searching the marketplace. Looks like it’s still being used and those products are given high priority in the marketplace. It’s definitely de-motivating as far as spending time trying to compete.
