It would be great for designers to know from viewing an item in the store weather or not it is currently in a collection. More to the point does it need to be optimized.  I would love to be able to tell before I promote an item from a collection if it is currently showing up to buyers or is it marked to be optimized. The only way I can tell now is when looking at backend items that need to be optimized. I have promoted numerous items from collections only to see them with optimization needed later in the backend. Maybe I am missing something? Do items in collections have immunity from not showing up?  I hope I am explaining this correctly.

I'd be happy to be able to see if an item is already in a collection on the backend!  Maybe it could be added to the Statistics section?

Also, it would be equally helpful if we had the ability to see statistics on collections. I've pinned my collections hundreds of times, so it would be super helpful if we could see which one of those collections haven't been optimized in a while without checking each individually.  🤞❤️

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there already is a way to tell if a product is in a collection or not. From what I can see, if you click on a product, once it opens, look at the bottom of the product picture and on the right, there is a little heart for marking as a "favorite", but just next to the heart is an icon of four little horizontal lines, like a "menu" icon. There will be a check mark over the lines if your item is already in a collection. If no checkmark, click on the icon to add it.

If you already knew this and is not what you were referring to, sorry! 🤔

@A_New_View   Sorry, I could have explained better...  you can't see which items are in collections on the backend in the grid view, only if you (a) click on the collection - where you can't see when the indiv items have been modified etc., or by (b) opening the individual product listing.   What I'm hoping for/proposing is a symbol or text that states it's in a collection that could be viewed with other statistics in a grid view like this

An easy way to fix this would be to see a green triangle in the corner of the image telling us it is in a collection and if the product design is in need of optimization the triangle turns red. Just a thought. I have been asking for something to let us know things are in collections from the backend since collections were introduced. I never realize how many items were not being seen in the market place. This problem needs attention. I feel unprofessional promoting things that are not going to be seen.

Hi @kashmier ,

Many thanks for your suggestion on this! I'll be happy to pass this along to our Team now ✍️

It would be nice if we could comment on a specific post. This one is for angelafuller729  - I like the idea of knowing which collections were updated and when. I am sure I have some that can just be deleted. If they make this area more 'designer friendly' I will take a week and dedicate the time to updating and clearing out collections. Being able to see what is going on in a statistics area will make the collections more likely to be kept tidy. Perhaps we should start a thread with ideas on what this section should contain.
Also thank you Emma for passing this idea along.

I haven't done anything to my stores in months, and I'm behind on understanding some of the latest jargon.  When I see many of my products with the red triangle ! saying "optimization needed", I sort of understand.  But WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?  I have no idea how to fix that and "optimize" those products.  I'd really appreciate some direction.  THANKS!

I check my tags and sometimes change them. Then I make them public. I was deleting a lot of the older items but stopped doing it because it seemed to affect sales. I am still not sure what is ok to delete. Hope this helps even if just a little.

Thanks, Kashmier, that does help somewhat.  I've been going over my products.  What I also found, however, was that Zazzle has removed so very many items from my stores simple because they haven't sold, or haven't been viewed.  Some of those items I will delete, but many are good product, so I will alter the tags and names a little bit and re-post them and see what happens.  Frustrating to go back into my store and see that in my "Photos, posters and canvas" category, Zazzle has removed so many that only EIGHT ITEMS remain.  My photos are African wildlife photos - not characters or things like that which go in and out of being trendy.  Or maybe I'm wrong - maybe fine photographs of African wildlife are not of interest???  Certainly, in that particular category, I'm putting items back into my store.  I'll have to think about the other categories.   My store is "LIPPOLDSAFARIPHOTOS" if anyone wants to look and comment.  Thanks.

@MLIPPOLD   To offer a suggestion or two... I'll use this as an example, because I like the composition.  https://www.zazzle.com/sunset_with_ellies_jigsaw_puzzle-116355184323014438
I would retitle it to " Botswana Elephants at Sunset"  or "African Elephants at Sunset".  or "Scenic Elephants at Sunset Photo Puzzle"
"Ellies" isn't a high value search term.

Description should be about the photo itself, not the story behind it. (that info would be good on a blog post featuring a link to the puzzle, or better yet, a collection of which the puzzle is only 1 of at least 10 items.)

I use a free Chrome extension called Keyword Surfer for finding best tags.

And last, but not least, are you sharing your listings on Social Media? That is going to help with views, especially if you consistently work to grow your followers on IG, FB or Pinterest, and share new items.

🤗  Hope that helps a little... and know you're not alone when it comes to having to routinely update listings!
