It would be nice to see somebody actually wearing the socks. I've noticed socks are a product I have that actually sells occasionally 😅 I think it would be nice if you can see what it looks like when your wearing them, because otherwise it can be hard to tell if there is text on them were it is showing on the sock- Is it on the side of the foot or the bottom of the foot?  Also designs stretch a bit when you wear socks, it would be nice to see how that stretching might effect a design.

+1

It's really hard to envision how sock designs will actually look since even the design tool doesn't give us a top and bottom view, all we & customers can see is the two sides not seamed together.

Here's the preview image for one of my pairs I bought:

and here's how the design looks in real life:

With how the socks are stitched together + bending around the ankle & foot, the top & bottom view can have a rather unexpected look. It would be super helpful to creators and customers both if we had previews of top & bottom plus an in situ or two. I'd love to see an in situ similar to this one so we could make designs meant to be viewed when your shoeless feet are up.

Stretching is a big factor, too, don't know how they'd account for that in an in situ. Since I wear a uniform for work I buy a lot of "fun socks" as they're the only thing we can be unique with and I've found that often what looks really cute stretches into an almost unrecognizable object when on and it's not even like I have huge wide legs/feet or anything, it's just how socks are, they have to stretch to go on & stay up. If I was going to make socks with text or definite objects in the design, I would consider making the design smaller than expected to account for stretching when on.

* This pair of socks had a printing error. The design was tiled but there is an obvious white/blank area by the toe.

I just made my first sock and second guessing myself.
Is there a stich line up the front of the calf that MUST line up? I can't tell what it would look like head on.
Or....forget about using a jpg like a art for example...or use background for one color and place a ton of png's every where except any edge?
BTW...thank for the great pics. I will have to study them while I wait.

Hmmm....
It looks like the seam is up the font so if it was a jpg of flowers or mona lisa....it would be bad.

Love that this issue was presented because it sure would be a BIG plus for shoppers!

Hi Padraig,

Just wondering if we can soon plan on seeing this marketing option offered for Socks?  It's also a great assistance for creators as we place the designs on this product.

Has the team decided to work on this issue @Pádraig ? I too, am interested in seeing socks in situ on feet.

Thanks for sharing - hopefully Zazzle with work on a fix for us with a mock-up so we can actually see how our designs line up.
