RE: Replace product feature
Recently I noticed a Replace product button to resubmit a product
To the Z team: it would be nice if there was some guidance as to how much we can change without rejection?
While the product rejection notice I received yesterday had an explanation (and some of it made sense). It will save both the designers and reviewers time if we knew what we generally can or can't do.

The reason for my request is I just had a product I resubmitted after making some alterations. I changed the font which was a poor design choice (in my early days of inexperience). The text was also poorly aligned and the layout was chaotic.  I though this was a good candidate for replacement. The reviewer though otherwise and for some of the reasons they mentioned, they were right.  One reason mentioned: A customer revisiting the product might be disappointed by the drastic changes (their words.... paraphrased 🙂

Thank you in advance for considering some guidance.

I have successfully

  • changed fonts
  • resized font
  • resized text boxes
  • changed placeholder pictures
  • changed placeholder picture to use a mask
  • changed placeholder text
  • changed text into a template
  • renamed template text box

The only rejections I've gotten have involved removing or adding elements. So trying to add personalized text to one design and removing a design off the back of another.

But - yes - some detail would be super helpful in general.

How do you know if you have a rejection? I haven't been advised of any but don't know what'd been changed as I haven't kept track of edits. Do they go to the 'under review' folder? If so, then I have none in there so they've been accepted?

CreativeDesign: I was notified via email. And seem to remember they simply left my original in place. Their words may have been something to the effective of we've put your original design back in the marketplace.

One question i have is: what happens to the product marketplace placement when it's put back into the marketplace????? Is it going to lose placement and end up set back further in search results?

I wish someone from Zazzle would reply and they'd give us some instructions before they roll out such a feature! Yesterday I noticed this feature for the first time. Was really happy about it and replaced LOTS and LOTS of products. Nothing mayor, mostly redating dates like 2017, 2018 to 20XX etc. They were greyed out waiting on approval. Today I see they are all just back as they were; not greyed out and still having dates like 2017 etc.; and NO e-mail reply saying they were rejected?! Now what? Do I wait? Re-do them?? I hate to think I did all that work for nothing, cause it took me HOURS!

Please Zazzle... could you give us some more guidance?! 🙏

After several rejections, I am fairly sure what might cause a rejection. However, before getting those initial rejections, I had made similar changes to MANY other products, nearly all cards and postcards. Now I have products in my Saved Designs that are more than five days old with no rejection letter yet. I've tried deleting them assuming that they are NOT going to be approved because of the changes BUT I cannot remove them from the Saved Designs link.

Any guidance from a moderator on whether deleting them is a glitch and what we should do to remove them would be most helpful.

THANKS!

@NPL I've noticed the same thing with many of the products I modified as well. But if you wait another day or 2, they change back to what you modified, both with the modified date & the actual changes you just made.

I just noticed this on a keychain that I DID NOT make edits to, but it did just sell yesterday.

So a buyer's edits will affect our items???
