Hi, often times I have scenes or objects that I have grouped because they have a number of elements but then I cannot use the tiling function.  I don’t know why the system would be confused if the item was already considered a single entity.  Is there a reason why grouping and tiling have to be mutually exclusive?

This was the case for many years, but it is now possible to tile grouped items. There are some cases in which it does not work - SVG images cannot be tiled, not when grouped or alone. It works with all of the other usable formats though, as far as I know. The nice thing is that text and images can now be grouped, so you can make a tile and add customizable text to it 😍

Here is an example

Here’s the original announcement and demo explaining, and as penguin power stated, it does exclude svg format.

Also you can search the forums to read other posts about it.

thank you both — I clearly missed that one.  Some of what I’ve wanted to tile does include an SVG — but this is great to know and try out soon, with something that does not contain an SVG.

Being able to tile SVGs would certainly be the cherry on top... that would mean that cutout shapes could be tiled.

I would like tiling SVGs too!
