Instant Downloads Royalty

Does Zazzle still give 50% off or whatever the sale is for the real product at the time of the instant downloads?

Some months after this first started for the instant downloads, I had the default royalty on mine. The card was 50% off and so was the download, which was bought. Because of that, I raised my royalty on the downloads and have not sold any since. The amount I had gotten for that download was not much. If a customer buys your original work as a digital, it should not be given away. You don't know if that customer won't sell your product images without you knowing.

If Zazzle stopped giving the sales prices on downloads, then I would like to know that. Can someone from Zazzle answer this?

Not James or Mark but discounts stopped being applied to downloads some time ago, about when the designation it's downloadable stopped appearing on the listings grids  and the preview with the phone stopped appearing unless you choose the download option on the product page. If you go here, which is the main cat page for wedding invites filtered to ones with digital download option, you can click on any one of them and then select the "prints + instant download" option on the product page and see that they're very clearly showing the discount is applied only to the prints.

I guess I was so upset with that 50% off download that time, I never paid attention that it was changed. Thanks for letting me know. However, I am a bit bothered by James's comment that there might be some smaller ones. (He thinks).

Yes, I can confirm what Col said above is correct. We no longer allow discounts on DD. At least not high ones of 50%. There might be some smaller ones from time to time I think.

So when are these small discounts from time to time?

Not sure. They have been few and far between. As far as I can tell we try not to discount Digital downloads anymore because of the margins.

If you have noticed a strange royalty amount, this could be a product that was design transferred to a digital download. This is currently set at a lower default than what you might be publishing DD on. Is this why you're asking?
