I'm really boggled by the Collection Covers thing. I really hate the business of covers with all sorts of different items that show up really small in the images. For me the easiest solution seems to be making quick videos (I'm primarily using Canva, and it's quite quick to do) for the Covers. My questions: 1. Team Zazzle, do you consider this a good option? 2. Should cover videos be square format, which seems to look best on your website, or "Reels" format, which is good for social media? 3. What resolution to make certain these videos stay good down the line (I sure dont' want to redo them every five years). But at the same time, I want them to load quickly enough that they make sense. 4. I'm really disturbed by the time lag in how the videos load in the interface. Can this be improved. Can we please select a cover image within our video that displays until the video loads. Do you think there will be a cross sell collection option with recommended products for Mother's Day this year? Or is it best to place them in a Gift Theme with Mother's Day chosen as event? Maybe one of the mods knows?

A 'bit of work' from our end was a comment I noted when the collections feature was announced.š¤£ The Collections feature that I LOVE by the way! Hence I am up for the challenge. I have just calculated how much of a 'bit' this task will take for me to do all that is required for 1300 collections. It takes me 4hrs+ per collection (sometimes more) to create 10 media images, rewrite the tags (as they're now defaulted to single words) optimize the descriptions, edit the email that goes to customers, reorder the products and add a banner, then promote across my various platforms. So yes a little bit longer due to adding in the marketing side of things. As such I have calculated will take no less than TWO YEARS working 8hrs a day, 7 days a week to complete this 'bit of work'. Presently I'm only getting through 2 collections a day (over 8hrs plus) so not getting collections done daily at the moment. So at this rate we could be looking at 'retirement' before I get them all done!! š¤£š I think I'll have to just be happy optimizing a few!! š¤£ Where to start though? Best sellers Seasonal items New Products Seems like a good starting point. I have created a Google spreadsheet to help me organize this workload and stay on top of it as I feel going through it all 'systematically' step by step is the best way given all the different steps we need to take. If anyone wants a copy of it I'll see if I can create one for sharing. I've never shared a Google spreadsheet before but I assume it's straightforward. If anyone has more tips on how to manage this workflow, drop them here! š Zazzle Suggestions to aid with this ginormous task *Please can we have the email message that goes to customers so we create 'one' email that is added by default to ALL our collections and we can 'edit' it if we need to for individual collections. *Please can we have a generic 'profile banner' option that adds to all collections unless we choose to edit in a collection specific one. * Please can you remove the thing that stops us from changing the store or adding products (in some cases this happens) to collections meaning we need to start over with a new collection. I'm creating this thread so we can help with any questions from the outreach for correct/intended use of cover images/videos in a collections media manager. This way, we can collaborate and help each other resolve any questions.
The email highlighted the misuse of single product images in a Collections Media Manager, which might cause confusion in line with intended use in the Marketplace and Search.

Hi Admins, After adding a collection cover to a cross sell wedding collection I'm unable to select the products that are visible in that image, As you can see in the below image the options are unavailable. Products are showing in my Collections on the published page, but not on the Edit page. Is this a bug? For instance, I've added three invitations, but only two are showing in the back end with the main one that I'd like to show first not showing at all, but all three are actually showing on the published page, but of course I can't change the order as I can't move them in the backend if they're not showing at all.... š¤

OK, so I've been slow to adopt the collection covers - and also VERY unsure about using them in place of the individual product covers or images in search. But, since Zazzle seems all gung-ho on this feature, I decided to turn on a few RealViews and allow them to be used in search for the products included in the image. Well, today I got a message from an unhappy customer who assumed that her order included not only the invitation, but the RSVP and enclosure card shown in the RealView as well. This is basically what I've been afraid of. To make matters worse, it was a digital download and those products aren't even available to be downloaded. I'll probably try to put them on downloadable products for her, assuming she doesn't just go away mad, but I'm not thrilled about the situation. Just wanted to provide this feedback for the powers that be. I have noticed an uptick in sales for the invitations where I've allowed the collection RealView to be used in search, but I'm not sure if that's evidence that customers like it or if it just means that Zazzle is providing a boost to those products as part of testing this feature. I'm not very happy about having to deal with angry customers who feel like they've been duped by false advertising though. And I have to wonder how many others are out there feeling the same way but just aren't contacting me to complain. Anyhow, I'm leaning toward turning off the search feature entirely, and even contemplating deleting all collection covers and RealViews (not just the search feature). I LOVE the idea of making collections more visible to the customer, but I think the implementation needs work. Clearly, the way it's currently being done it is confusing to at least some customers, and I really HATE the idea that it's coming across as deceptive and misleading.

OK, this is going WAY too far! It's bad enough to substitute the collection cover images for the product images on search results pages. They are confusing to customers, who don't see the exact product that they are looking for, and instead see a mish-mash and bunch of clutter that they have to try to decipher what products are even relevant to their search. But apparently, our products don't even show up as individual products in our STORES!!!!!! (the public view). I happened to look at another designer's store, and there were several products with the same cover image, which turned out to be the collection cover that was substituted for the product cover images! So now even if someone goes right to our STORE, they won't be able to see the actual products!!!!!! PLEASE, ZAZZLE, Reconsider this awful change! Most of the collection changes have been good, but this one is just plain wrong!

Hello, I want to ask about creating collections. Is it possible to have different themes nested under a specific collection? For example, if I create a collection for Christmas. Can I have Vintage Christmas, Boho Christmas, etc etc. as separate collections nested inside the general top category collection for Christmas? Or are each of these themes consider as just collections themselves? Thank you

Collections I created years ago and added covers to years ago are now showing those covers (which were never intended for the marketplace or to show for ANY product) are now showing in Marketplace re 'collections' which is VERY confusing to customers as they do NOT represent the product at all in some cases. I have not edited those collections based on new requirements to have them replace any product. This is all automated and it's a mess. I've deleted the covers where identified to stop this happening and will do more. Collections should show under collections NOT individual products.
