As I sell birthday cards from one of my stores here at Zazzle, I thought it would be a fun thing if I could have something on my website that would send out a reminder of an upcoming birthday for my visitors.
What I mean is... I visit the site and decide to get a birthday card for my 1st child. I want to get one for my 2nd child but their birthday is months away. My site would allow this customer to enter the birthday of the 2nd child and request to be sent a reminder email to get a card from us ... a month in advance. The reminder email could be sent to an email or phone, customers choice.
Something like this used to happen with one of the flower websites I used to buy flowers from. Every year they would send me a reminder for my Moms birthday. And every year I would buy from them because they made it to easy. I would like to be able to do that for birthday cards.
Any thoughts, ideas, or better yet widgets, apps or programs that I could incorporate into my website that would do this? Even just the right search phrases to find apps like this would be helpful. Most of what I uncovered is meant to be used in house to remind employees to come to meetings, etc...
Any help appreciated. Thanks,
PC

Wow, I love this. Maybe you could hire someone to build an app for this. I know that's a thing. I have no idea how to get it accomplished.

Been poking around and found this site: https://www.gammageflowers.com/reminders/ The problem is that when you click on either of the reminder buttons they go to a 404 page. But on that page is a text link for the mailchimp logo. *Note that it may not work as I don't have an account.
It seems that at one point in time this company was able to use mail chimp to accomplish the what I'd like to do.
Does anyone use mailchimp? If so, do you know if it offers the functionality I desire? Is it available in the free version or on of the paid ones?
Thanks,
PC

This site: https://www.flowers.co.za/reminders-email also offers the service I desire but you have to sign up. Then they use a calendar function to allow the user to send themselves emails...
Perhaps I'll sign up to see what it all about...
