Nesting categories yes or no?

Many years ago the advice went around to not nest categories within categories as that supposedly made it harder for your products to be found.
Is that still the case?
I am wanting to make a master category in my main shop for ALL photography and then put location specific subcategories within that for easier promo links
Will this hurt my chances to be found in search on zazzle?
(obviously NOT up on SEO etc!)

Try to think like a customer. Will they search first for a general term, photography, or will they search for more specific keywords such as travel, France etc?
If  they are searching for car racing, that would probably be your main topic title then subcategories under that, giving topics that are more specific, such as locations, types of racing….
