Because if the way this product is made (printed as a sticker that wraps around the flask and overlaps itself - note that the bleed area on the left is larger than the right- this part will end up mostly hidden) your design cannot actually be centered on the template to be centered on the final product… make sure you turn on the guidelines, there is a green dashed line on the template which indicates the intended center of the final product.

Here is a screen shot of the product as it was designed with guidelines. It looks centered to me.

You have to line up your text and image manually with the green center guideline. If you look you can see that it all needs to move to the left to be centered on the line. In this case the alignment tool can't be used because it centers your image and text with the center of the design area but not with the center of the actual product itself (because of that sticker overlap that PenguinPower mentioned)

O.K. I understand now. I thought that we were supposed to always rely on the alignment too to tell us if something is centered. Good to know that this is not always the case. Thank you both, Penguin Power an Contributor, for helping me out!

This is an anomaly that I have also noticed with flasks. I ignore the guides on the artwork page and check it visually, as it appears on the mock-up (trusting that the visual mock-up is reliable!)

It has been mentioned that the mock-ups are not always accurate and that we should trust the design view.
