Correct product view inconsistently showing up in collections

This is working and not working seemingly at random.
When you create a product and select on of Zazzle's product merchandise views (ie the paper plate with the pink party setup), your selection doesn't appear this way in collections consistently and it will randomly default to the simple view.
I completed a collection with different color options. The first set went in fine, the next set less than 30 minutes later would not show the merchandise views
It is still showing up correctly in the store backend.
There does not appear to be a way to change the merchandise option from the collections tab

I'm not sure if this works in all situations, but I've found that if you add the item to the collection from the products page in your store backend: https://www.zazzle.com/store/YOUR-STORE-NAME-HERE/products (as opposed to adding it from the individual product page or adding it as you post it for sale) the chosen view will "stick" in the collection. Otherwise, it will show the default view in the collection.

Adding items for the store backend does not resolve this for me, still getting plain views only

Hmmm... Maybe that trick doesn't work anymore. That would be a bummer. I honestly haven't worried about it much because I've been focused on making covers which sorta makes the default view thing moot. But I just tried it with a new product and it is still showing the default view. I'm gonna check back in a day or two though because maybe (hopefully) it's just taking some time to index?

@Harmony Just a follow up here. I checked back on the product that I changed via the products page, and the view in the collection did eventually switch to the chosen one instead of the default - it just took it a few days. Anyhow, you might give that a try if you have some that really need a certain view.

Happening my side too. Most recent example is 256536966112678347. (more than 2 weeks and no change). This is one of 5 products in the envelope section in the collection. 4 of the envelopes are not showing the correct product view.
