Deleting elements in the design tool

I design from an ipad. Before the recent design tool updates if I selected an element (graphic/text) a garbage can icon would appear that I could click to delete the element. Now, when I select an element only a pink box appears but no trash can. I am stumped on how to delete elements. On a computer I can press delete or backspace but on my ipad I don't have that option. I have updated my browser, tried in various browsers, restarted my device..but nothing has worked. Please help! It has become incredibly difficult to create new designs or edit designs for customers and I am desperate!

Yes, this was a problem for me too! You need to hold that pink box a bit and then a menu opens where you have Delete option. I liked the previous version with a trash can better, I hope it returns.

I've never used an iPad so this might not work, but can't you just go to the edit menu and choose "cut"?

There was another thread posted about this issue on iPads. A workaround and/or solution was found. Search the forum for that post, since I can’t remember the workaround.

I do what @Cat mentioned ie Cut via the Edit menu, but if you have something to add to your design already on your clipboard, you have to paste that in first otherwise it gets overwritten by using Cut, so it can get much more fiddly.  It was so much easier before using the dustbin/trash icon. I hope it gets put back.

Just to play devil's advocate for a minute here... I work on a PC and I think the removal of the trash can is a big improvement because I'm no longer accidentally deleting things when I'm trying to move or rotate - which used to happen ALL THE TIME. Maybe they could just put a delete button somewhere? On a PC you can just right click and it brings up a little menu where you can choose delete, but I don't know how you right click on a tablet.

As Natasa pointed out, holding down on the pink box loads a pop up with a delete button. Thank you all so much for your help!!
