Design issues with new Morgana font

I just heard from an upset customer . Her wedding invitations did not print correctly due to the new Blooming Elegant font changing to Morgana.  She only tried to change the date in the middle of the design and it deleted font at the top.

Below you can see that the "fall in love" became a number 12  and the name moved to two lines just because I changed

the date.

I tested a few more, and there are issues as soon as i try to personalize the text.   I don't know the fix and I am not able to go test thousands of designs!   This needs a fix asap. Screen Shot 2022-08-10 at 8.01.16 PM.pngScreen Shot 2022-08-10 at 8.01.44 PM.png

I couldn't re-create it with any of my designs (so far) but I tested another of yours (https://www.zazzle.com/budget_elegant_halloween_floral_boho_burgundy-256995802154309804) and got similarly weird results.

I dunno, I'm trying to keep the faith here - hoping that these issues will sort themselves out. But honestly, "auto-magic" is starting to feel like some sort of cruel sorcery. 👿

The "fall in love" field and the date field (20)  both are labeled as "Text 11" in the design tool. On the product page, the template panel only shows one field for Text 11 and that's the one for the 20 date. If you change that 20, the "fall in love" text field changes to the same. There is no template field showing in the template panel on the product page for the "fall in love text". If you enter the design tool and edit the "fall in love" field that way, the 20 field changes to the same. This all indicates that you have accidentally used the same URL parameter for both fields, resulting in both fields changing to the same when you edit one of them. I don't understand how a customer ordered them this way as it is immediately evident on the product page that the "fall in love" text has changed to whatever you entered in the 20 template field.

Just had that same thought! I'd be curious to know if this design has sold before. If it has, you would expect that the URL parameter error would have become apparent before now. I suppose it's possible that Zazzle changed the URL parameter as part of the font swap, though that seems unlikely.

None of that explains why changing an un-related field causes the names to suddenly wrap onto two lines though - which is the behavior that I also saw on the design I referenced in my other comment. That seems like an issue clearly caused by the font swap.

When you first load the product page, everything looks normal as in Colorflow's first screenshot.

But as soon as you click the Personalize button, before even editing any of the template text, the positioning of the Text 2 field jumps around to this:

Invite-02.jpg

If you reload/refresh the page, it goes back to normal. Click Personalize again, it gets wonky again.

So it seems there are two different issues happening here: Two template fields with the same URL parameter, which may or may not be the way it was published, and a third unrelated field (Text 2) breaking into two lines as soon as you click Personalize. If you go into the design tool, the text box for that field is pretty narrow (which may or may not be the way it was published) but Jessica Jone fits on one line. It's not until you add the S that you run out of horizontal space and thus it breaks into two lines. My guess is that the replacement font is slightly larger or has more spacing between characters, and thus what just fit on one line before now doesn't.

I'm wondering if the text field that's now wrapping onto 2 lines was created before Zazzle updated the way text fields work - back when they were expandable horizontally instead of the fixed width text fields that we have now. Perhaps when it changed the font, it converted them to the new kind of text field but just kept the width the same instead of making it wider than the sample text as you would do when placing a new text field.

ETA: I went and found the template (https://www.zazzle.com/autumn_floral_pumpkin_boho_wedding_fall-256233306301215714) and it looks like all of the text fields in this invitation, regardless of font, are sized to the exact width of the sample text as if they were old style text fields. However, none of the fields will expand if you change the text to something longer. Change October to September and it wraps, change 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM and it wraps, change the venue name to something longer and it wraps. I don't know if these used to be old style text fields that would expand, but they're certainly not behaving that way now. I can't tell if that's because of the font switch or if it was an error that existed before and is just coming to light now.

Yeah, I know about the old style text boxes that don't expand, I wasn't able to make edits until recently.  But it's odd that the date changes the text at the top. I have  few like this, and other issues.  I just don't see how i can go look at every design that used Blooming elegant and I hope Zazzle fixes these issues.   Not happy to have confused and upset customers messaging me.  thanks for the assist.

I see now that there are two text 11 boxes, I don' t know how that happened and never heard from a customer before the font changed.  Thanks for the response.

BTW, I was changing the Morgana font to Everglow because it worked better on certain products & noticed that Zazzle took a template out of my design & combined the two into one. Originally one was Blooming Elegant & the other the Blooming Elegant tall, curly one. I know because I had a cover mockup on the products that I made that showed the 2 separate typefaces/templates. One was a greeting and the other a year but now it changed to two lines, one template/typeface. And on the back, the template field was chronological, so it changed to text2 when originally it was text3. So maybe something odd like that happened to your design as well?
