I swear I was able to do this before.
I have an image, and am using the circle or square from the Elements tab. I want to cut out the shape from the "Element" and have the rest of my image show.
No matter what I put on the top/bottom, or what order I click the items in, my result is that my own image becomes the "fill" for the shape.
But I am trying to "knock out" the shape, and have the rest of my image show like a border.
I've noticed this on a few separate days and various product templates.
Wasn't this possible before? Or am I having a brain blip?

I don't think this was ever possible @KC . To my mind it would be intuitive for it to work that way but, in fact, it's the reverse....the portion that you cover is the part that remains visible. I've often thought of requesting that we have the option to make the mask actually 'mask' like the name suggests .. lol.

I seem to remember that it definitely made a difference which item you selected first (or, which was on top) However, I do not remember what the outcome was. Whatever, there were two different outcomes. Now it seems that it doesn't matter which order you choose, both return the same result.

The masking item is what will show after you mask. In other words, it cuts out everything in the image that's not covered by the element. So if you want it to cut the center out of your image/art and make a border box, you need to have a mask that's a box with the center cut out. You can't do that with the elements provided.
It doesn't matter what order you have them on there. It'll use whatever the SVG file is to make the mask.
