Envelopes - Yellow "alert" sign

It's always something. Just now, going in to look at some envelopes I just made successfully yesterday, I' getting that yellow "issue with this design" thing on all the layers. Not for an image. It's for the colored (or white) rectangle on every 'flap'.

 Sigh.

I had to shrink the rectangle down this much to get the yellow thing to go away.

I accept that it does this with an image that goes beyond some invisible line that it makes you stay within. I can handle that. But there's no way to make a color on any of the flaps or layers without making a rectangle that covers everything and goes 'outside the lines'. I've made a ton of envelopes. This is the first time this has happened. Is it just me?

For overall coloring of envelope (What you seem to be trying to do)

I would use the "Outside unfolded" view and do a background color. Any text or image could be placed on the other parts.  Unfortunately when I go into the design area today, I get no options in the RIGHT HAND panel.  ??? ... Okay I did some testing and I do see the right hand panel AFTER I input text or image ... However, there is no place to choose a background color??????

I'm going to post a separate thread on this.

I noticed this today on an older design where this hadn't been the case when I first published it. Also tiling the background also doesn't get rid of the warning even when the shape is shrunk down. I think it's a new blip.

I added a background image after exiting the design tools. On the product page we can add an outside color using a hex code. I don't see how to add a solid color to the inside now.

I'm posting more screenshots, just hoping to help clarify the issue. (BK Muir I know you did another post, but I'm just sticking to this one for now.)

So. I click on my 'already made' envelope design I want to edit.

Screenshot 2024-03-07 at 2.40.11 PM.png

When I open it up to edit, and you can see the yellow warning signs. But the 'grouped' image (bay leaves) I'm going to edit is ok. Its just giving me a warning about the background rectangles. (Thankfully I don't need to change those.)

Screenshot 2024-03-07 at 2.40.38 PM.png

So I delete the bay leaves, and drop in a new grouped image of rosemary. No problemo.

Screenshot 2024-03-07 at 2.42.00 PM.png

But then when I hit DONE and go to the sell page, it tells me Head's up! There's an issue with this design.

Screenshot 2024-03-07 at 2.42.20 PM.png

It DOES let me publish it though! And when open it up again 'fresh', from my 'backend' page, it looks ok again - np warning. So presumably if a buyer clicked on it, and just looked at the images on the left side, and didn't open it up to edit, they wouldn't have a clue?So I've gone ahead and published a few, just because I'm on a roll with this new group of designs, but I'm keeping them hidden for now.

Other's a re reporting noticing yellow stickers appearing on their envelopes ( Facebook groups) so this appears to be a site wide issue.

@Scott

I appreciate you, CreativeLeahG, for bringing this envelope issue to their attention here

I acknowledged my error on envelope color in the other thread.

However, I just was checking something else and saw that an image in the lower left of an envelope had to be moved Up and Right to get the Yellow warning NOT to show.

This yellow error is now appearing on many of my old designs - which have no real issues. I think it could be a huge problem for customers. For example the yellow warning error pops up if the image is a transparent png but the transparent part is outside the green border lines. It has zero impact but unless I crop out the blank area and fit the thing within the lines the error persists. I first noticed this on invitations. It not only shows when designing the product but also on the purchase page. "Heads-up! There's an issue with this design."As a customer knowing nothing about design I would panic .... anyone else? I feel like it is one thing to have this warning on new designs - a pain - but to have it on old designs that I CANNOT EDIT??? Is everyone having the same feature?

I just made a new version of an old 2.5x3.5 notecard, and had to really fiddle with it to get the yellow alert sign off. All I did was change the border rectangle element to a rounded rectangle. The main image was the same image. On the original card, it overlapped the green dotted line, but was fine. No warning. When I made the new card with same exact image, I got the warning. I was able to crop some white background and make it be ok. But this is nuts.

What about tiled images? You can't crop those down. All my envelopes are still doing it too.

I think customers will be put off by this. I agree. I hope Zazzle has a rethink about this.

Maybe the margin or bleed is being altered on Zazzle. I noticed something similar on business cards. The "safe lines" keep changing, very confusing.

Hi, I read the solution and had a question about the way the envelopes fold.  It seems as though they fold from the outside in.  It looks to me that it would be safe to put a pattern on the " Front - Inside Unfolded" section.  The only way to get this to work without a yellow warning is to use a small square and the tile feature.  Every design doesn't work as a pattern though.  Should the "Front - Inside Unfolded" area placement be of concern when the yellow warning appears?  I have tried to wrap my head around how else to use this area for these kinds of designs, but it doesn't seem to be possible without setting off the warning.  Thanks for your consideration of my question.

This is beyond annoying. I've wasted a lot of time tonight trying to make an envelope the way I usually do - with an image that has a huge size and large resolution (that I know will work), and placing it on the outside unfolded template and am getting that yellow circle thing. Have even tried tiling and increasing the resolution and image size to huge proportions and it's still popping up. Can't add my usual inside images either without getting that warning. I like my floral images to completely cover the top inside of the flap so it's the first thing people will see when they open the envelope and it's not letting me. Was this really necessary? I understand the text issue, but with images that can safely bleed over the blue line it makes no sense. I'm certainly not going over years' worth of previous published envelopes and checking every single one.

Is this the same thing that binders had for 5 years?
They were just fine even with a very annoying set of warning.

I had no warning when making a recent lope, now I go back and change color to look at it, and it has a "HEADS UP!" - the thing is fine (re: it will print within) and it's still complaining.

Also I read the other post, just adding my post to this thread.

I decided to ignore it, thanking it is a website error.
