@mylittleeden ditto! 🙂 and on a slightly different sidebar: I always thought you were based out of the U.K.!

I was! We moved back again down under over 5 years ago now, still drink plenty of tea so I guess the Aussies still class me as British! Glad I could put a smile on your faces 🤣

I knew that there was a method to my madness! 😉

Do you find that your British accent has evolved to a more Australian one now, or is this something you wouldn't really notice? (mind you, I am Canadian, but I really couldn't tell the difference between my accent and that of someone from the U.S.). Or does it slip back to a British accent if you are having a conversation with a British expatriate living in Australia?

I ask because I find the concept of bidialecticalism fascinating ... actress Gillian Anderson (of X-Files fame) says her accent changes when she's working in North America versus when she's living in the U.K. I remember the first time I heard her using a British accent on an early X-Files episode and thought "that's pretty good, but she must have spent a fair amount of time perfecting it" ... only to later discover that she spent a good chunk of her younger years growing up in the U.K., so the accent was actually perfectly natural!

We'd really prefer to avoid conversations like this in the Technical forum. It's not unusual for a discussion thread like this to be included with a bug report to Engineering, and these sorts of posts don't help us understand the scope of the issue at hand.
