Glitch on product search function

I have been updating similar products in a specific search field on my product page. I would type in wedding tote bags for instance, and then click on qty sold, and then the bags would go away and other products would show up. I tried this several times. I'm ready for it to be fixed before I go on.

This is still an issue. I went to my product page and typed in wedding bags. Wedding bags show up. Then I clicked on the sort option of qty sold. Then all kinds of items show up, i.e. wedding invitations, magnets, and more. 

I have worked on specific types of products before, updating the descriptions, etc. When I want to work on a  specific group, I want it to stay on the items that I had it search for.

This is happening because "wedding" is a department, and "gift bags" is a product type. If your search contains multiple product types and/or departments then you may get bounced around in unexpected ways when you reload the page (changing the sort method to Qty Sold counts as reloading the page). You can see similar behavior by searching your store for "cup plate" and then refreshing the page (or you can change the sort method). I'll pass along this behavior to the team.

The wedding department can make the task you're trying to perform a little tricky. I would suggest using the Department dropdown in the upper left area of the page then drilling down to the specific Weddings department, then sorting by Qty Sold and going from there. That may include some extra products that you don't want to see, but this may be the most straightforward approach. Perhaps someone else has found a different approach to this situation.

Hi Scott,

I did the dropdown menu for weddings and then searched on tote bags. All kinds of tote bags showed up, not just wedding. I did an edit on one of the bags, and the page remained the same; all the various tote bags. I'll do some more experimenting tomorrow and see how it goes. 

The way I first described it though is how I used to do updates on like items, and it used to work. It would be nice to have that way work again, but I will continue to at least start with the dropdown menu for now.
