Grouping Products

It has been months since anything of mine has been grouped.  I have products that I did before Thanksgiving that still have not been grouped. If this is no longer an option it should be removed as an option under the "actions" tab. This is frustrating if you are trying to give your customers options in their selections.

Yes, I appreciated being able to have items grouped but after manually trying to group them multiple times I would love to see a fix to this. I'm assuming it is a glitch because it seems too valuable an option to have been removed.

Hi Michele, I found this in the zazzle help files—-(closest I could find to an answer) Btw, reading past forum posts, it seems the grouping issue has come up randomly over at least the last year. The algorhythm must behave lost its  rhythm.

Have a design that you think should be grouped?

Our algorithms are very accurate when it comes to identifying which products should be grouped together, but there may be times that it might not pick up some of the more subtle nuances in similarity. For those times, we have enabled the ability for Creators to manually request their products be grouped together. Here's how:

  1. Enter the 'Products' tab located in your store's dashboard.
  2. Select all the products that you would like grouped together by checking the checkbox next to the product title; be sure to double-check to see that all the products selected are the same product type.
  3. Once all the products you wish to group have been selected, click the 'ACTIONS' dropdown from any of the selected products.
  4. Select the 'Group Products' option.

And that's it! Your grouping request will signal our algorithms to review the products you've selected within the next 24hrs.

However, you should note that our algorithms may require a manual review from someone on our team if it deems that your selected products are not similar enough. If that's the case, your grouping request will take longer than the 24hr window, depending on the volume of requests we receive.

I have been manually grouping some of my products MULTIPLE times since this issue began, I believe in the fall. They still are not grouped.

If yours are not grouped after multiple attempts (along with reading about  others who have posted about it in the past year) the probable answer that either grouping is broken or isn’t a feature anymore.

If it's not a feature anymore it needs to be removed. It would be a shame if it is no longer a feature since not every customer is comfortable about doing further editing. 

The probable answer is actually that it is a broken feature and this has actually been a problem for quite a long time

It's been slow before but the last few months have been awful. 4/5 months of nothing being grouped.

Hi again Michele, You obviously know what you’re doing, by bringing this to the attention of the Mods, it is helping all the shops.   Either grouping is broken or isn’t a feature anymore. I agree with you, z needs to either fix grouping or remove the ability to group.
I posted the info on grouping not just for you but anyone else reading these posts who might find it useful. Just trying to help.

I started a post back in fall of 2022. It's quite long but I don't have the energy to go looking or it. The issue has never been addressed. I had given up on requesting grouping via the Actions drop down. The last time grouping worked for me was in July of 2022.

It's a shame really. I could tell people were purchasing color options by my earnings report. I'd have a click on one color and another color was sold that very day. I miss this feature. 😔

PLEASE have a post in our "news" tab regarding the fix when it happens. I have been trying on and off for months to group products, however I rarely check the forum. As others have said this tool is so useful and it's a shame we can't use it.

Here's a set of graduation announcements I requested grouping for about 2 weeks ago. They were made in Zazzle's Design Tool. They are background colors & text color changes. I submitted the request a couple times, mostly because after initially submitting, I realized a couple things needed a fix, so had to republish & submitted again--but that was a couple weeks ago.

I have also tried grouping items, putting through the requests in December, but haven't seen any them grouped yet.  Is there any update on when grouping will be back? I was going to put through the requests again, but came here to check first if anyone was having issues.

Grouping, whether automatic or manual, hasn't been working for me since last summer. Such a shame too because it is a great option for both customers and designers.

Thank you @Roberta.  Fingers crossed.  If you could let us know when this is fixed, it really is such a great feature to have for customers.  Also, let us know if we have to resubmit requests that we previously submitted for grouping or if they still exist somewhere.

Glad to see that a moderator FINALLY responded to this ignored multi-month multi-thread technical issue.  However, it’s super disappointing that there’s no fix ETA.  Other than an inconsistent use of the split color icons (which are mostly great) I found that this function worked well and generated many sales.  Please make fixing this issue a priority.

This has been an issue in my shop since at least the summer... I haven't been able to group anything, and I often work in different color themes. Would really love to see this get fixed. Grouping products 100% leads to more sales!

To keep you in the loop here, we have resolved the issue that was preventing grouping from happening, but the system is currently working through a backlog. It is quite a big one I'm afraid and might take a few weeks. We're truly sorry for the inconvenience here and truly appreciate your work and patience here.

Really appreciate the update!! This is a huge help ahead of grad selling season when people may be looking for a certain school color. Should we hold off on requesting groupings, @James ?

Hey James! Could we get an update on this? Is the grouping still working? It seemed to be working it's way through the backlog for a month or so after your update, but I'm noticing I still have a ton of backlog that hasn't been grouped and it's been almost 3 months...

Whoops, sorry for not getting back to you! Honestly, there are a ton! But I've noticed especially with my pickleball paddles that are months old... Even looking at the first page of the pickleball paddle marketplace page, there's one design that has 5 separate product slots on the first page because they haven't been grouped into one yet, so that seems to be a product that has been missed quite a lot. Also, most of my popsockets haven't been grouped yet either and I made them about 5-6 weeks ago. Thanks!
