I was reviewing a collection I am in the process of creating for a customer when I scrolled down the page below products and found the following text "Other Collections you may like by (Store Name)." Then there are collections shown below this text. The issue is that the collections shown are NOT from this store. It is a themed store and the collections shown are not in the same niche. See the image below:
Please fix this misrepresentation of the origin of the collections shown.
Thanks,
PC

Can you link me to a collection that exhibits this behavior? You can also send it to me via Zazzle Chat if you'd like.

I noticed this yesterday when I posted a new collection from a niche store I have, samples of collections from my main store showed up.

I've noticed this off and on for years. It's frustrating because someones we dont want niche stores showing up on our main stores. This is even after checking and double checking that they aren't checked to show up in more than one of the stores I have.

I am also struggling with this issue. I have started up my second store. Both stores are niche stores that I do not want to display collections from the other.

Did you ever hear anything back on this? I'm having the same issue with my 2 stores, and I can't seem to figure out a workaround. I've done some random clicking around in your stores and didn't see it happening anymore at your stores. Obviously they haven't come up with a unilateral fix, but I thought I'd check to see if you discovered an effective workaround, Thank you - Ann Louise

My main store is Col's Creations with about 40 Collections. I have a second small store, The Pastiche Boutique, with 1 Collection. Viewing a Col's Creations Collection, the one from The Pastiche Boutique store doesn't show up in the "Other Collections You Might Like" scroll just because it's statistically unlikely. However, viewing the one Collection from The Pastiche Boutique store, then the scroll shows 12 Collections from Col's Creations. Because there's nothing else it could show.
So I did a little testing this morning and the solution is simple though not obvious. For each Collection I already had "visible in these stores" set to just that store so that one store's Collections wouldn't be showing on the Collections tab of the other store. But below that is "Default Store" which was not set (see notes below for more on that).
So I started setting Col's Creations as the Default Store for my Col's Creations Collections and presto! - they immediately disappeared from the ""Other Collections You Might Like" scroll under the The Pastiche Boutique Collection. Just finished setting the Default Store for all of my Col's Creations Collections to Col's Creations and now the ONLY Collection that shows in the scroll on the The Pastiche Boutique store's Collection is the one of The Pastiche Boutique products that I want there.. This stays true signed in or out. Here's my one Collection from The Pastiche Boutique and you can see that now it doesn't show any Collections from my Col's Creations store on the scroll.
Collections are complicated since they are member level and thus can appear in multiple stores in multiple places including on your member profile. But for this particular situation, the solution is easy:
If you want only Collections from Store A to appear in the "other collections" scroll when viewing Collections in Store A, then set the default store on them to Store A.
Important note: If you are on the main Collections listing grid of either your store or member profile and use the Edit to open the Edit panel options for a Collection (without actually opening the Collection), setting the Default Store from there doesn't stick. You have to actually open the Collection and then click Edit from inside the Collection and set the Default from there. Then it sticks and you'll see it's immediately removed from the scroll on other stores' Collections.
Additional note: In my case, using the Edit from outside the Collection, it always showed the appropriate store already as Default. But opening the Collection and using Edit from there, it always showed no store selected yet. And even though setting a default from there makes it "stick", when you return and again open the Collection and then Edit, it still shows as none being selected. That's just a glitch I guess but don't worry about it as regardless, the goal of not having that Collection show in other stores' scrolls has been achieved.

Sorry this is so long but there were a lot of weird details I didn't know how to succinctly explain. Bottom line is you can constrain the "other Collections" scroll to just Collections from the same store.

Ahhhgg, hold up on all of the above. 😥
So now that its been an hour or two since I set the default store on everything, some of the Collections are again showing up in the "other Collections" scroll, and sometimes the scroll isn't even there at all on the page. I maybe changed too much at one sitting. I'll give it a few days for "indexing" to catch up and see what happens.

Now those are the kinds of glitches I'm used to on Zazzle - ha! Some changes take immediately, and some changes take a few days... 😀

Oh my, oh my, oh my...I needed that long explanation because the glitch of "not sticking" is exactly where my problem is. I noticed I had a few collections that didn't have a default store, and I thought I fixed that, but indeed when I go into the collections and edit from there, there is no default store showing. Thank you so very much for all of that detail...I needed every bit of it, and your documentation will surely help many others in this spot. You are awesome!!!

unfortunately, this did not work for me. At first, it appears to work. But then I refresh my view and my smaller store still shows collections from my other store.

Yep. 😞
Forgot to go back and check on my Collections 'til now. It's been four days now since I set the default store on everything, more than enough time I think for "indexing" to figure things out, and the Collection from The Pastiche Boutique IS showing 12 Collections from Col's Creations again. It's so weird that setting the default store immediately removes them from the scroll on other stores' collections. Can't know if THAT'S the glitch, or if the glitch is that they return again. 😕
It's definitely a glitch though that no matter how many times you set the default store (and there's always only the one to choose), that anytime you open the edit panel from inside the collection, it always still shows "Select one" again.
It kind of seems to me though that since setting it does temporarily remove them from the other scrolls, that that's probably what's supposed to happen with this option, but it's just not "sticking".

there is clearly something wrong with the code. 😉 They just need to have their developers pay attention to this thread. 🙂 This has been an ongoing issue for months now.
I just sent a direct message to @Scott with a link to this thread asking for his attention.

Always love it when you take a deep dive into figuring out all things Zazzle! My first urge was to dash off and limit all my collections to singular stores... but then something struck me... For my card store I have themed collections for the cards themselves. This store almost only contains cards, but I have another store where I have lots of themed stuff for gifts or parties, etc where the theme matches the cards sold in the other store.
What I would like to be able to do is have the same themed collections show in that other collections you may like... So the question is, have you seen or found a way to "tie" (for lack of a better word) collections from different stores together? ie. If a customer came into my Soccer Birthday Cards collection, is there a way for soccer themed collections from another store to be shown in the "other collections" scroll, only the other soccer themed collections. I have a feeling that that level of control is not possible, and I could go play around for awhile, but you may already know the answer... hence the question.
Thanks so much for taking the time to explore. It is appreciated.

I don't have enough stores & Collections to experiment on that idea, but wondering if you use similar descriptions w/ same keywords, and same tags, if that would increase the odds of coordinated collections from the other stores appearing on the scroll or if they'd still be as seemingly random as they are now?
Collections were a game-changing addition to Zazzle, it's a pity we don't have more control over which show up where.

I guess this has been an issue for almost a year now though it's really the first time I've actually looked at the bottom of my Collections to see the issue. I've read through the entire thread so see if there was a work around. It seems not.
It seems Scott was looking into this problem but nothing has been updated.
Here is a Collection that shows the problem. It would be great if this issue was taken are of.
