Order of Items in a Collection

I have been trying to put my best looking items in a collection at the top of the collection but it is not working or when it does only one item can be moved. Am I missing something on putting items in your selected order? I move one item and then a second and if I try a third they all move back to where they originally were. There has to be an easy way to move your items and hit a save button to be certain they have been moved. For awhile I was moving dozens of items only to find that they went back to the original bad order.  Again what am I missing. This is a problem for people who have stores for a decade or so. If you are just starting out it looks like it would be so easy. Too bad I don't have the time to wipe them all out and start over.

@kashmier  What sort of collection is it? If it's a Cross sell Event suite you can arrange by pressing the burger menu next to the Add Products button. Set it to Ungrouped Product Sort and you can drag and drop

It takes a while for the collection to index but I believe that's how to rearrange a cross sell

If it's any other collection - again - just drag and drop.

You need to view your collection to see your changes.

Also check the Product sort order setting (one in Marketplace and one in Your stores - top right)

The edit collection screen always stays in the same order for a cross sell but it has changed front end so to speak

If you're still having problems  - link to the collection that's misbehaving and I'm sure the Tech Team will investigate for you

I was trying to drag and drop but it was not working because my pages were at 100% on the browser. I took them down to 80% and it works. The adding items box is also too big and I have to decrease my browser to about 70% so I can see the items to choose.  Thanks for your help. I am sure to be back at this post one day trying to figure another situation out.

I've mostly been able to move things, but I have one shirt I just can't move. Nothing I do will move it, even if I try to move the other products around it to change where it's placed. Possibly related to the fact I had to remove and readd it to the collection, because the preview was a discontinued shirt option (it was that once, but was updated ages ago... the new collections are forcing those items to show as the previous discontinued styles for some reason). Anyway, I don't think you're missing anything. It just doesn't always work.

I have been moving my new products to the top of my collections but am only able to move one at a time..... taking forever. Is there an easier way to move your most recent products to the top? I would think your newest products would always go to the top and not the bottom, frustrated🙄

I have the same complaint/request.  New Items should go to the top.  In addition, I we should be able to sort by most popular, most sales and most views.  It's totally frustration to have to scroll through multiple screens to get to my most recently created items.
