OverSaturated Color

I just got a note from a customer that ordered a product - they are  unhappy as the color is so over saturated you cannot read the text - I referred them to customer service but this  needs looked into again - colors were good for awhile at zazzle,  now more issues.

This is what they got and what they should have gotten

The color does look darker than the screen view, but mostly it looks like the artwork got either moved over to the right somehow, or maybe it's been expanded so it's bigger? Looks like they added some text beyond what's on the template. I wonder if the art got accidentally moved somehow in that process?

Depending on the customer's state of mind, maybe you could get them to send you a share link so you could see exactly what they did when customizing it. Another random thought... maybe if they were messing around in the design tool they inadvertently added a filter to the image?

Not trying to blame your customer here, just thinking that maybe it's something you could fix on the design end.

I messed around with it a bit - moved the artwork and added a filter and here's what I got... pretty similar to what they ended up with. https://www.zazzle.com/z/pf1o8p8d

I thought of those things as well..  and have written to my customer for further information on this.. this is an older design and I have since decided  to lock down my designs.. if a customer wants something moved or changed I will do it for them.  Saves everyone heartache.

I'm always torn about how much freedom to allow people. I think there's a fine line between letting them use the template any way they want, and keeping them from getting into trouble. I waver back and forth on it and as a result, my stuff is all over the place in that regard! 🙄

I lean toward this way.. I take time to adjust a design so it looks good on a product  I don't need them messing it up.. if they are that artsy they can design their own. 😉

Just now saw this and yes it does look like what they may have done, STILL the color is Way too saturated -  and in MY mind, when I place a design on some version of an item.. it's because it looks best on that shape, style, size etc.. had they left it alone to begin with.. .... we wouldn't be here fretting over it.    LOL but that's me..

I did send them a new link to a tag that was done  on the diagonal and looks better .. so if they reorder..

Deb, the customer sent you a screenshot of their edited product via Zazzle Chat. You can see that they put dark text onto the darker portions of the design. With matte cardstock the darks always tend to get a little bit muddy, so probably best to avoid that sort of stuff. Customer has reordered.

Locking this because it's not a bug and the situation is resolved (customer reordered). In the future it would probably be best to contact Support about something like this so that we can keep the Tech forum focused on bug reports.
