Products not showing up in Store Management

SandyMDesigns
Contributor III

My store https://www.zazzle.com/store/sandyspider/products has 14K products in the Store Management. Store Management stops at Page 49 of 70 (204 on each page), a total of 9,847. About 5K are products invisible to me! This is with All Products selected. Does anyone else have this problem?

@Scott

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

There are two separate issues being reported in this discussion, so I'm going to describe both below:

#1: We (usually) only display ~1000 products at a time. This includes search results, and on store pages. If you start flipping through pages of your store backend you'll (usually) only see ~1000 products, then you'll see a blank page (or an error page). If you absolutely need to review every product then drill down by Category until you're viewing fewer than 1,000 products. We do this intentionally for performance reasons, so this is not really a bug.

#2: There are products missing from store backend. Evidence to support this includes the Pinterest pins linked above. This is an issue that we're reviewing this now.

I usually ask that only one issue be mentioned per discussion thread, but in a case like this there's a few very similar things happening. Hopefully this helps.

Also, I'm marking my post as the solution to help provide the most clarity to anyone viewing this discussion.

Me too.

My store: https://www.zazzle.com/store/pawsitivelypets/products

I was updating collections and noticed that only 36 out of 150 cards in a 75 breed series of new cards are gone. Can't even tell you what else is missing.

That hurts missing out on not seeing all those cards.

I wish I knew where the 5K products that are missing from mine.

So far, no answer from Zazzle. Did you to them too about your missing products?

Hi Sandy -

I did not contact them, I figured they would read this, it can't possibly be just the two of us, LOL!

Hi @SandyMDesigns Many thanks for your message, If you want to view all products in your stores we would suggest to sort them into categories.  Unfortunately we do not show all the search results for every search. Usually it's just the first 1,000 results that will appear.

Lisa,

I don't think we made ourselves clear, we are NOT talking about our public storefronts, we are talking about the back end where we manage our products - ALL OF THOSE should be seen by us. They are not. They were a week ago, but not as of a couple of days ago.

When you go to your store backend you're essentially saying "show me the products that are in my store "sandyspider." So the functionality is no different than doing a marketplace search as a customer...you just see extra products (private products, direct-only products, etc).

As Lisa noted above, we generally only show ~1,000 results for any search, and this usually includes the store backend. As you've noticed, this is only sometimes the case. When I log in as you then go to your sandyspider store I can only view the first 1,000 products in the store. However, if I click into the Accessories category then I can view all ~2,000 products.

Hopefully this explains things a bit more clearly. I understand that this is slightly confusing, but it's the way that our site is running at this time. Moving forward, if you need to review every single one of your 14,000 products I'd recommend breaking it down by Category first. If you're still not able to access all products then you'll need to drill down a step further.

Hi Scott,

Well that is better explained, BUT doesn't fix my issue. The cards ARE NOT THERE. They are NOT in the category, no matter how far I drill down. Simply NOT THERE.

ZBug

Same here. Yesterday they were there, today many products are gone. For example, under one category there are only 5 products visible. There are about 30 that are really in there.

Edited to add: This is that category: https://www.zazzle.com/store/holidaybug/products?cg=196382450133276100

And to be clear they aren't showing in the back end (or the front end).

Happy to pass this along your reports of missing products to our engineering team, but I'm curious if you have example products that you can point to here? Are there any other details you can share other than "my records show X but my store shows Y"?

Two days ago I had many more products in my Fathers Day category. Yesterday, there were only 9. A more specific example of shirts I know are missing are: Nacho Dad, Brewmaster shirt, Plaid Dad shirt, Pools Balls Dad, Goth Day, #1 Golfer Day, Dog Dad, and so on.

In the category listed above (June Holidays) -- missing are World Blood Donor Day, Corn on the Cob Day, International Fairy Day, Giraffe Day, Pink Flamingo Day (which has sold), Photography day -- shirts, buttons, patches.

Perfect, thanks a bunch.

And to be clear - all my cards ARE in categories from the moment of creation.

This is an issue and not something we are doing wrong.

I hope Z comes back to read this thread. I did not realize how many designs over all are missing.

ZBug

I was going to edit my post rather than add a new one, but I'm unable too.

I keep a basic track of how many products I have. I wanted to give more specific information.

In HolidayBug I have ~7k products, store management shows that I have 1200. That's a huge difference.

Hi all,

I have not been able to recreate this issue.

Can you please share a screenshot highlighting the issue?

- Mark

Hi Mark,

So in my store when I go to all products in the back end and sort by 204 per page it says I have 13,878 products and at the bottom of the page it looks like it should be 69 pages full. However, the pages stop showing products on page 49 which is 9,996 products showing. So that's 3,882 products not showing.

Hi Mark,

Giving you a screen shot for me would not be helpful. This is something to recreate, I have uploaded over the past month ALL 70-plus breeds, one Queen for the Day and One King for the Day greeting cards equally in the neighborhood of 150 cards. Only the last 36 cards show up in my back end and in the collections I created. How do I give you a screen print of cards that have disappeared?

ZBug

Here is a screen shot of my shop. I also added a image of a collection that shows 21 products, yet it's empty--it's been up for years and no new products added for over a month, so it's not an indexing issue.

OMG. That would send me to my therapist's office! I just checked and mine are all there. So it isn't a universal problem. If that helps. I hope they return quickly.

You are right! It's not universal. I looked at my other shops, and they don't seem to be affected.

With regards to the collection, when I log in as you and then view the collection it shows me two products, and says that it was updated today. What changes did you make to this collection?

If you happen to come across another collection of yours that's exhibiting similar behavior (which you haven't modified lately) I'd be interested in taking a look.

PS: I haven't quite got the reply button down so my responses are listed separately. 🙄

ZBug

Didn't touch it or modify it today, yesterday or last week. I looked at it yesterday when I saw it blank. Same with Funny Christmas Saying, and Jade Chinese New Year of the Tiger is missing products. I looked in my shop's backend, they are just missing.

ZBug

I looked at my sales history for sellers that are missing. Maybe that will help.

I see that the collection titled Funny Christmas Saying says it was modified today as well. It was not modified by me.

Some more collections also not modified by me today, yet says it was. They all have missing or no products.

  • Chuseok, Korean Mid-Autumn Festival
  • Oktoberfest Home Decor
  • November Special & Unusual Celebrations
  • Gifts for Grandfathers
  • Born Year of the Ox

Something is really hinky.

Ah, what a great idea show to pinned cards!

Okay, this Pinterest Collection is all Zazzle cards created only the last 18  in the series are in my back end:

https://www.pinterest.com/salonofart/queen-for-a-day-birthday-dogs/

Same with this series - only the last 18 in the series show up in my back end:

https://www.pinterest.com/salonofart/king-for-a-day-birthday-dogs/

This series is entirely gone:

There are more missing but I think this gives you a good idea of the magnitude of this issue.

I requested Z delete empty shops as I was unable to delete them. They were just removed -- like as in probably yesterday. I'm now panicked that whatever they did also removed thousands of my products.

I replied to the email request I had to notify pro support to see if they are connected.

SandyMDesigns

I see that I am not the only one this is happening to. Yes, it is about ALL THOSE PRODUCTS  that should be seen in our background. I have an outside job, so it will take some time to gather everything to show that these products are in fact missing.

Glad that Admin has looked at this thread. I will have to get back later to show it all or show the blanks.

SalonOfArt

Is there an update to our missing products. I worked for days on end to upload some of those in time for Mother's Day  (too late now) and Father's Day?

I feel your pain, all my summer holidays are wiped out. Every day that goes by, it hurts. 85% of my designs are gone from my biggest selling shop. I'm trying to keep up the faith. Z has come through before. But right now, I'm all 😭

PS: SalonOfArt  you're designs are adorable!

SandyMDesigns

Unlike most people, Pinterest does not seem to work for getting traffic to Zazzle for me. Though I have uploaded many products there, I can now see that uploading individual products benefits this issue by showing what is missing.

This is my findings in my Store Management.

https://www.zazzle.com/store/sandyspider

Store Management

Deleted some products to just under 14K.

Product Visibility – ALL (13,988 results, 13,974 showing in Store Management 14 products missing?)

Products stop on page 49 of 70 (204 each page) = 9,996

Going through all the Categories – Sub Categories = 13,974

I found four Sub Categories where the Results had one more than the products showing.

Holidays – Traditional Holidays - Patriotic and Fireworks - Fireworks Display (60 Results, 59 Showing)

Holidays – Traditional Holidays - Patriotic and Fireworks - Independence Day - American Flag and Fireworks (66 Results, 65 Showing)

Simplistic Art - Entertainment Auto Travel (50 Results, 49 Showing)

Wedding Cards and Gifts – Elegant (131 Results, 130 Showing)

The conclusion is to go through the Categories – Sub Categories to find most of the products.

SandyMDesigns

The conclusion is to go through the Categories – Sub Categories to find most of the products.

This is NOT the conclusion for many of us who actually have entire collections of products missing - hundreds of products gone no matter now far down you look in the categories, so please don't confuse the moderators who we are looking to for help to get our products back.

You are right. It is a conclusion for me. (Sort of). The last thing we need is to confuse the moderators.

However, there are possibly 14 products missing for me. I did not check my collections and if I checked through all the links on social media, there may be more missing products.

There is obviously a glitch with missing products that need to be addressed.

SandyMDesigns' post above describes the solution to the issue in the original post. The posts that followed describe a totally different issue, which does sound similar, but is actually very different. So she's technically correct in marking her issue as the solution.

I've been a member of the Software QA team here at Zazzle for almost 10 years now, and reporting/describing bugs can be difficult even for me. This is why I ask for examples when things like this happen so that I can try to reproduce the issue myself. Hopefully the post that I made below (currently marked as the solution) will help everyone understand the issues that we're facing here.

I was looking to see if I could find a pattern on this end, but I couldn't. There are design from 2008 that are gone as well as one that we just created last week.

Same here, older series like this pin: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/468655904983577338/

again there are two Z collections, total of 65 breeds in greeting cards - all gone.
