Recent designs have disappeared from store backend

All of the designs that I have been creating over the last few days have completely disappeared from my store. I shared the designs on Pinterest after I created them, and when I click the link on Pinterest it takes me to the product page on Zazzle. So the designs must still be on the Zazzle marketplace, but I cannot see them in the backend of my store. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Thank you Cat. Unfortunately for me, after making a change to the metadata they do appear on the stores' back-end, but not in the public store - all products. 😞 Only in collections. If I go to "all products" or "recent products" in the public store, the last items published (visible) are still the ones from before Feb 2nd. But at least I know the items are there and were not lost.

I dunno. I would guess that not appearing in the public store is more of an indexing issue as opposed to something related to this bug - I think it generally takes up to a week before they're visible in the marketplace and I assume that would be reflected in the public store too? Maybe? Honestly, I almost NEVER look at my public store so I'm not really sure.

At any rate, whatever the issue is, I'm sure Zazzle's working on it and will have it resolved soon.

I actually tried to do that yesterday but it didn’t work (the listings never opened in a way so I could edit them). But after reading your recommendation I will try again tonight. Thanks so much!!

Yes! It works! All my products were in Collections, so I went through and edited details (changed a word or two for each one), and now they're all back in my store, in the order they were created!  Thanks so much!

I've been doing somewhat the same. I open the link from the collection (right click on the title link). I click "Edit Details", dont change anything, check the authorization check box, and hit save. Then all comes back.

Small pain. But gets them back. Thanks all for the suggestions!

Thank you Cat! This seems to work - at least for now! And I noticed you dont have to actually change anything, just click "edit details" then click "done".

I just had it happen went to open a new product because I was going to use it as a template to just change the image with the same font on the design to create a different version and the new product went poof blank white page in front of my eyes.  I know California is having major flooding and landslides now just hoping they have back up servers elsewhere as well should they flood them all there in California.

Good thing for the forum and folks who report issues.. I just came here  to see why all my designs from yesterday were not showing.. spent over an hour looking in various stores wondering if I had accidentally put them in thew wrong place..  a quick trip here  has saved me further searching..   I'm seeing lots of wonky stuff  in the back end since the last update to the design tool  ;(

Hi all! Anyone seeing any news of a fix from Zazzle engineers? Still not seeing any updates on my end. Getting nervous as I don't want to lose all the work put in.  Thanks for reporting and any updates.

Not seeing any updates either and my products are still missing.. Hope they can resolve it soon 🙏

They never really update us when stuff is fixed. Sometimes they say it's been reported but after that we never get any info on what happened or its fix. Frustrating. But as of right now, I don't see anything fixed on my end so I am guessing that it is not for everyone.

According to several Google searches, Redwood City and areas north and east of it are experiencing power outages. Whatever computer these products are sitting on, might be turned off due to absolutely no power.

Entering Zazzle's address into PG&Es outage map shows they have power. And that area in general is doing ok with outages. The storms are worse in southern California. Hopefully whatever is happening gets fixed soon. I can't really work since I don't want to duplicate what I just did and I'm not 100% sure where I left off.

Is the server located inside of the building you looked at on the map?

No idea, but I would imagine that Zazzle would have backup generators to avoid going down for an extensive period of time.

My items are now all back on the stores' back-end. However they still don't appear in the public store. Only in collections. If I go to "all products" or "recent products" in the public store, the last items published (visible) are still the ones from before Feb 2nd. Hopefully this will also be fixed soon. Usually for me new items appear on the public store front within a few minutes, maximum a few hours.

That's good to hear; It's a good sign. All of mine are still missing.

Thats not been typical for a long time. Indexing was delayed recently for about 8 days. I'm willing to bet right now it's super delayed on top of everything else going on. Good to know missing products are returning.

You'll have stretches where it works how it is supposed to, but lately, there are often large windows of time where it takes 2-8 days for things to actually appear in the marketplace. It's been like this for I'd say a couple years now of off and on flow.

That's great to hear ! Do your products appear outside of the collection when you check "all products" in the backend. I wish I had added mine to collections lol

In "store management" mode I do see all of my items now, they re-appeared a couple of hours ago. However, on the public storefront they only appear in "collections", not in "all products" or "recent products".

I feel for the tech team having to resolve these stubborn and reaccuring issues. I'm relatively new on this platform and wouldn't know if these types of issues have been the norm over the years, but their frequency over the last few months since last year October seem to be cause for concern, equally on the sides of both the tech team and the creators, I suspect. I remain confident all will be resolved in due time, nontheless, some communication / feedback of the overall situation will be most welcome as expressed by another contributor earlier. I'm wondering if the huge collective creation and loading of of new products only serves to exacerbate the seemingly already overloaded system because of the indexing backlog. Not to mention other issues like frozen 'last viewed', stats discrepencies and  products disappearing.

On a side note: I followed the advice mentioned somewhere (thank you to this contributor 😉 about editing and re-saving product metadata, which allowed some missing items to reappear. I was able to find them in the already created collection. These are the only ones I could bring back to the front, but alas, from my total product count falling, I estimate about 50 are missing. The other issues since last year that I have flagged to the team have not been resolved as yet.

From reading all the messages, I realize pressure must be on behind the scenes. i trust the tech team is making great strides in resolving all the issues and in due time their and our efforts will be rewarded. Thank you in advance. In the meantime, a little feedback would be so welcomed and appreciated.

I wish we would get real and thorough feedback. I think it would ease a lot of chatter in here, but we often just get "we are aware" and "we will let the team know" or individuals get "I will email you" from the team and then we hear nothing else. I know several of us have asked for more general and detailed feedback off and on for a long time. I really hope something changes in that regard. It would make their jobs easier too! Less pages of threads of the same questions and concerns being asked again and again, if we just had notices and emails about things going awry and what's being done. Transparency goes such a long way. I will keep asking and hoping for it.

A word from zazzle would be appreciated and even possibly an ETC we can expect

All the products I made on the 3rd-5th are not showing in my store.  Hoping this gets fixed quickly.  Was beginning to make cover photos for them and they just disappeared.  There one second and literally gone the next.

My items are still missing as well, hopefully they will be back soon. I have not created anything since they disappeared as I don’t want to contribute to the back log.

My designs from Feb 3 days disappeared,  They are not in management or my public store.  I found them on Pinterest and clicked the link they are live just not in my store and not in the marketplace.  When I created the products they were in management but the following day they were gone.  disappeared.

Having the same issue here, and commenting to follow. Fingers crossed that this can be fixed soon, and hope that everyone at Zazzle HQ is safe and sound after the storms.

@Scottreferred us to this thread from a thread where another admin asked us for links to missing products. I cannot access most of mine, but here are two.

https://www.zazzle.com/two_year_old_rainbow_birthday_party_napkins-256292738100127317?rf=23834385862...

One of my stores is missing exactly 50 products, very few of which are newly created. I have no way of knowing how many might be missing from the other store.

I just remembered this very thing happened to me about 2 weeks ago... Only it happened with one product (no idea which one). I noticed over the course of 3 days the number of my items would fluctuate by one several times. First it would go down by one, then back to the original number (700). I noticed it because I had the goal to reach 700 by the end of the day and was so glad I reached it. There was no communication from Zazzle about it whatsoever so it couldn't have been an issue with the design itself. And now this, 50 of my designs gone. Only accessible via collections.

alissag

Alas, I didn't yet create a collection or pin any of these items, but I did see one come up as a recently viewed item. So, it does still seem to exist, just can't be found in any normal way. For what it's worth here's the link to that one:

I don't have links for the missing products but there's a bunch of them. Did not write them down.

I managed to get some of my most recent products to reappear but I have some that are older still missing in my store and I have no idea which ones. Also, the newer products have not appeared yet in my public storefront.

items between 2-5 Feb are still not showing in backend. Items after 6 Feb are showing up

On 2/4/24, I created 3 items (3 different stores). They disappeared, so I flagged them in my spreadsheet (add new items as I post them) and went to check today ... Not there.

Per Cat's suggestion, I searched for the PID and found the first two. Opened the Product page and used the EDIT DETAILS button to edit/change  a few things. They now appear in my backend, but I will keep them Marked in the spreadsheet for a few days to make certain they are settled in. (ID #s are 256211272715789859 and 256032555307892700).

The third product I do not have the correct PID# for (I mistakenly entered a duplicate of one above). I just checked my notices from Zazzle on on recent postings and it was not there - guess I will have to remake it.   ... Wait I will check my collection  ... yes, it is there. Will edit and save and see what sticks.

Does anyone know what is going on with this?  Is anyone working on resolving the issues?  It has not changed and it has been several days.

Yayo

Is it "safe" to upload designs yet? The designs I uploaded yesterday are still waiting for index and the designs that disappeared from Sunday and Monday are still gone.

Cat

@Yayo I've been adding new designs and they're showing up in the backend just fine. Not sure what it means...
