Unable to move Categories around in my storefront.

I used to be able to drag the categories in my storefront to rearrange them.  But now it doesn't work.  I have contacted zazzle support to no avail.  They can't get it to work either.  Could someone please help me with this?  Thanks.

When you say “storefront”, does that mean that you are trying under the Home tab or the Products tab?

Whenever I need to move my category icons, although it often seems a temperamental process to do so, I get it to work under the Products tab, by clicking the Products tab near the top then clicking “All Categories” highlighted in blue (further down, in a column towards the left on desktop), then by dragging and dropping an icon. The layout was changed some time ago, for instance there was a change in the number of columns shown.

It doesn’t work under the Home tab at all (I think that is intentional).

Clicking the Products tab (in Chrome), then looking down the left:

then clicking "All Categories" brings up the icons (although I haven't included in the screenshot crop).

Your category icons/images (not your category text list) is what you can move around. Hold down on one of your category icons/images and drag it to a new location between two other icons, then drop/let go of it. It should then retain its new location. If not, try again. Touchy llittle devils.

That's what I have been doing for years, but now it doesn't work.  I just tried it again for the gazzilionth time and it still doesn't work.  Frustrating.

It's not your browser. Yes, I am able to move categories using the method I posted for you. You have to keep trying, it works but randomly. You have to firmly hold down on the image icon, slide it between or before the image icon where you want it, then firmly let go, do not slide/move it after you position it. Sometimes it's the luck of the draw.  Try reloading the page before you attempt it again.

Thanks. I’ll keep trying.  Strange that support couldn’t get it to work either.

It has been touchy and random/working for a very long time, just have to be patient with it. My instinct is that there is something fugitive in the coding, that makes it so random. Sometimes helps if you have been trying repeatedly, to log out, close browser, clear cache, and then log back in. That gives you a fresh start at trying again.

Yup. Did all that to no avail.

On a Windows computer using Firefox, the drag & drop works a little differently here on Zazzle cats & Collections.  I left-click on the item then move the mouse (a little or a lot, doesn't matter) and that causes the item to stick to the cursor. Then I can release the left-mouse button and move the cursor all over the page with the item stuck to it, don't have to keep holding the left mouse button down. Then I left-click again to drop it where I want it. Have to do that second left-click to actually drop it.

Some time ago, maybe it was even back in the old forum, I tested out dragging & dropping in several different browsers when such issue was being discussed, and Firefox was the only one that behaved this way. The others worked the standard way (click and hold, drag, release the click to drop). You said in the duplicate thread that you are on a Mac but it couldn't hurt to give the above atypical drag & drop method a try as how it works seems browser-dependent so it might work Firefox's way in your browser, too.

Thanks.  I'll try it.

Didn't work.  But thanks for the suggestion.  It's just strange because it worked great for years until recently.

I was dealing with the same issue working in Firefox, then I switched to Chrome and it worked, but it can be random there too.

Chrome is my default browser.

Good luck. I know it can be very frustrating 😉
